Eto'o: 'You don't play a Final. You win'

Samuel Eto'o has been cheering on Mazembe, but today's Club World Cup Final “is not a game you play. It's a game you win.”

The Inter and Cameroon star will be one of the key figures in the FIFA showdown in Abu Dhabi at 17.00 UK time.

“I am very proud of Mazembe for coming this far,” he said of the Congo club that eliminated Pachuca and Internacional.

Line-ups: Maicon starts Cup Final

Douglas Maicon returns to the Inter starting XI for the Club World Cup Final against Mazembe, but Dejan Stankovic is on the bench.

Rafa Benitez has made changes to the side that beat Seongnam 3-0 in the semi-final, bringing back the Brazilian after a long injury lay-off.

Thiago Motta starts after he came on for the injured Wesley Sneijder in the opening minutes of that match.

Maicon's inclusion puts Javier Zanetti back into a wide midfield position, so Stankovic is the one to make way.

Benitez: 'Inter, now I need support'

It was said Rafa Benitez would be fired if he didn't win the Club World Cup, so he has a message for the club. “Now I need support.”

Inter thumped Mazembe 3-0 to become world champions today and appear to have made his job safe.

“I am very happy and want to dedicate this victory to all the people who worked with us and had faith in us,” he told Mediaset Premium.

“Clearly I need to talk to President Massimo Moratti and director Marco Branca. Now I need support and if that exists, then we can do well together.”

“I am happy for myself and all the players who are here and who were here, plus of course all of the fans.

Moratti: '1960s memories live again'

Inter President Massimo Moratti has followed in the footsteps of his father. “The memories of those children of the 1960s live again.”

Angelo Moratti was the patron when the Nerazzurri won the European Cup and Intercontinental Cup over 40 years ago and now his son is at the helm.

“You can see the almost violent joy of everyone, especially those who had a father that was a part of that moment,” he said referring to the sons of Armando Picchi and Giacinto Facchetti.

CL draw: Inter set for Final re-play

Inter will play Bayern Munich in a re-play of last year's Final, Milan travel to London to face Tottenham and Roma brace the cold in Ukraine against Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Italian teams were among the first out of the hat and the draws for the last 16 of the Champions League whet the appetite.

Roma are perhaps the happiest of the Serie A representatives, although Shakhtar's European pedigree was illustrated two seasons ago when they won the UEFA Cup.

Moratti: 'Bayern out for revenge'

Massimo Moratti believes Bayern Munich will be out for revenge when they play Inter in the Last 16 of the Champions League.

Inter famously beat the German giants in last year's Final at the Santiago Bernabeu to end a lengthy drought in the competition.

"It's an interesting draw," Moratti said. "It will be a kind of sense of revenge for them. We need to see in what condition we'll go into that appointment.

"We have already faced Bayern many times. It's an historic game. But it's too soon to judge.

Benitez focused on Mazembe

Rafa Benitez is focusing on Saturday's Club World Cup Final against Mazembe rather than getting distracted by the Champions League draw.

Inter have been paired with Bayern Munich in the last 16, meaning a re-run of last year's Final at the Santiago Bernabeu is scheduled for February and March.

"I think that it will be interesting for the fans and for the protagonists on the pitch who played the Final in Madrid," Benitez said.
