Stefano Pioli might be sacked by Milan this summer, but it’s reported Bologna as well as Napoli approached him for next season.

The tactician has a contract at San Siro until June 2025, though it is widely expected he will part company with the club following a disappointing campaign.

Napoli had already been linked with him for the 2024-25 term, but now Footmercato in France claim that Bologna have also approached Pioli.

Thiago Motta’s contract at the Stadio Dall’Ara is up at the end of the season and multiple sources are confident he will take over at Juventus, so they need a replacement.

If they also secure Champions League qualification, then can afford to splash out on an experienced coach.

Vincenzo Italiano of Fiorentina has also been mentioned in the Bologna arena by Sky Sport Italia.

Bologna return for Pioli?

It would be a return to Bologna for Pioli, who already held this job from 2011 to January 2014.

He is also close to home, being born and raised in nearby Parma.
