Santon will consider offers

Davide Santon's representative has failed to rule out an Inter exit for his client during the January transfer window.

Santon's future with the Italian champions remains unclear given his lack of regular playing time at San Siro.

Although Renzo Contratto has insisted rumours of an approach from Fiorentina are untrue, he did concede that the player would evaluate any offers that do arrive.

"I have never received any phone call from Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino," the agent noted on Monday.

Rafa's rude awakening

Rafa Benitez is in for a nasty surprise if he thinks a Club World Cup victory will guarantee a long Inter career, warns Susy Campanale

I feel for Rafa Benitez. He simply doesn't know what he's dealing with. There is a reason that Sir Alex Ferguson's lifetime on the Manchester United bench could never happen in Serie A. Italy is notoriously short on patience in every aspect of life, let alone in its football, and Inter in particular are a club where silverware is no guarantee of safety.

“We are all stood by his side and now it is time to focus on conquering the Club World Cup, which is a very important objective for us.”

Spalletti: 'No contact with Inter'

Luciano Spalletti has reiterated he has had “no contact with Inter” and wishes to stay at Zenit despite being tipped as Rafa Benitez's successor.

The Italian media continue to maintain there is only a very slim chance Benitez will remain on the Nerazzurri bench even if he does win the Club World Cup this month.

Spalletti is the hot favourite to take over in January or June, but the former Roma boss is adamant that is not the case.

“I am very happy in Russia and will not leave,” Spalletti assured.
