Kharja: 'I was Leo's ball boy'

Inter's new signing Houssine Kharja has recalled how he was a ball boy at Paris Saint-Germain when Leonardo was at the club.

The 28-year-old playmaker joined Inter from Genoa during the January transfer window.

"When he played at PSG, I was in the academy and I was a ball boy," Kharja said.

"Leo was an idol of mine. He scored goals and made other players score too, taking free-kicks and corners perfectly.

"I still have a couple of pairs of shorts of his that were thrown away and then given to me by the kit man."

Leonardo 'will talk to Chivu'

Leonardo concedes Inter improved considerably after the break and “will deal with Cristian Chivu internally.”

The Nerazzurri earned a 3-0 win away to Bari, but it was still goalless when Chivu escaped punishment for punching Marco Rossi in an off the ball incident.

“I will talk to him about that incident,” commented Leonardo when viewing the replays. “It's not right and we will deal with the situation internally.”

Chivu: 'I apologise for punch'

Cristian Chivu has apologised “to everyone, including my children” for punching Bari's Marco Rossi.

The Inter defender was caught on camera lashing out at Rossi during this evening's 3-0 victory at the San Nicola.

“It is difficult to explain,” Chivu told Sky Sport Italia.

“I am here because I want to apologise to Rossi, with all the dignity that I have left.

“I apologise to everyone, above all my two children who one day will watch this clip.”

The Inter of tomorrow

Inter's January signings were an impressive illustration of a club planning for the future, writes Antonio Labbate

Within weeks of becoming champions of the world, a consequence of their glorious Italian and European title successes, Inter were handed a stark statistical reminder that their experienced squad was on the verge of being reclassified as old.

A demographic study by the Professional Football Players' Observatory, released in January, revealed that the Nerazzurri had the oldest side in Europe. Contrasted with top-flight clubs from 36 other countries on the continent, nobody could match Inter's average age of 29.6.

Milito is always looking to improve

Inter striker Diego Milito says the secret to his success is a desire to always improve.

The 30-year-old Argentina international was named Serie A Player of the Year last month.

He was instrumental in Inter's treble-winning season, scoring in the Champions League Final.

Interviewed on FIFA's official website, he said: "Every goal has a special place in my heart.

"Obviously some are more important for the team than others, like goals that win cups and championships.

Leo delighted with Inter's new signings

Inter boss Leonardo has praised the club for making such an impact in the January transfer window and welcomed back Wesley Sneijder.

The Nerazzurri brought in four new faces, namely Giampaolo Pazzini, Andrea Ranocchia, Houssine Kharja and Yuto Nagatomo.

"We managed to find what we needed and it's not easy," Leonardo said.

"Serie A is a difficult League, but we want to win. The search for balance and perfection is constant, even if up until now we have played above all to get back into the title race."

'Inter-Juve ideological conflict'

“The ideological conflict between Inter and Juventus is beyond repair,” said former Bianconeri President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli.

He was at the helm during the Calciopoli scandal when the so-called Triade of directors were forced to step down.

“In the context that Juve found themselves in, we were able to emerge from the situation gracefully,” he told Radio Sportiva.

“We were penalised by demotion to Serie B, but got back into the top flight immediately and that wasn't so easy.”
