Zanetti: 'It's not the Final, but...'

Inter captain Javier Zanetti knows the meeting with Bayern Munich will be “different from the Champions League Final, but we're in great shape.”

The veteran lifted the trophy on May 22, 2010 following a 2-0 victory and faces the Germans again tomorrow evening.

“They are different from the team we played in May and it will be a different game from the Champions League Final, but we're in great shape, just as we were back then,” said Zanetti.

Stankovic: Inter thrive under Leo

Veteran midfielder Dejan Stankovic feels Inter are beginning to thrive under the management of Leonardo.

Saturday's 1-0 win at home to Cagliari was their ninth in 11 League games this year.

The Nerazzurri remain five points behind Milan in third place.

"It's normal to be tired. January and February are devastating, but now comes the good bit and the upcoming games like the one against Bayern Munich mean there is no tiredness. It'll be forgotten," Stankovic said.

Cagliari: 'Ref was on Inter's side'

Cagliari are furious after Inter won with an offside goal last night. “We were playing with 11 men against 12.”

The Nerazzurri secured a 1-0 victory when Andrea Ranocchia redirected a Houssine Kharja strike, but replays show he was in an offside position.

Coach Roberto Donadoni insisted there was no point going over these incidents, but his players did not agree.

“The officials were against us from the first to the last minute and it's a pity to have lost to a goal that was offside,” slammed midfielder Davide Biondini.

Inter's double Arshavin-van Persie bid

There are reports Inter are lining up a £45m double swoop for Arsenal stars Robin van Persie and Andrei Arshavin.

The Nerazzurri have been separately linked to the pair in the past, but caughtoffside.com suggest both could be on their way to San Siro in the summer.

President Massimo Moratti is said to have set aside £45m for his proposal to Arsenal.

Arshavin has stated he wants to leave the Gunners after a disappointing campaign, even if he scored the winner against Barcelona this week.

Stankovic: 'Put pressure on Milan'

Dejan Stankovic has the Scudetto in his sights and wants Inter to beat Cagliari tonight “to put pressure on Milan.”

The Serb midfielder is expected to start this evening and mark his 200th Serie A match in a Nerazzurri shirt.

“It's a great achievement and doesn't make me feel old, just happy,” he told Inter Channel.

“I am a ‘senator' of the old guard at Inter, one of the family. I wish I could celebrate it with a goal.

Line-ups: Leonardo makes changes

Leonardo adopts a different approach with Goran Pandev, Houssine Kharja, Samuel Eto'o and Giampaolo Pazzini against Cagliari.

Inter kick off at 19.45 UK time at San Siro and are without the injured Wesley Sneijder, Diego Milito, Lucio, Walter Samuel or suspended Cristian Chivu.

In Sneijder's absence, Leo has chosen a 4-2-3-1 system with Pandev, Kharja and Eto'o supporting Pazzini as the lone centre-forward.

Yuto Nagatomo also starts at left-back, moving Javier Zanetti into midfield with Thiago Motta.

Donadoni forgives the referee

Roberto Donadoni feels Cagliari did as well as they could and refused to criticise the referee for Inter's goal.

The Sardinians were only beaten by a controversial Houssine Kharja strike, as Andrea Ranocchia was offside.

“It happened, so there's no point going back over the incident now. We could talk about that forever and there would probably still be some disagreement.

“We played a good game, but were missing that little bit of belief that would've allowed us to really get Inter in trouble. That is our only regret.

Leonardo 'did not expect' a struggle

Leonardo admits he “honestly did not expect” such a hard slog to get the better of Cagliari this evening.

“We scored the goal early on and I got the feeling we'd control the game, but we risked conceding at the end and really struggled to close down Cagliari, who have many quality players,” he said of the 1-0 victory.

“We are tired, but I don't want that to be an alibi. We've got to wipe the idea of fatigue out of our minds, as there's still a marathon ahead of us.

Ranocchia: 'It was my goal!'

Andrea Ranocchia claims he got the final touch on Inter's goal and even Houssine Kharja says “give it to him.”

There is a great deal of confusion over the winner against Cagliari, as Kharja's shot took a deflection on its way into the net, but it's not clear if Ranocchia or Michele Canini got the touch.

“Yes, I touched the ball,” Ranocchia told Inter Channel. “I only got a slight touch, but that was enough. The important thing is that we won and got all three points to continue our Serie A push.”

'Matri is more complete than Pazzo'

Cagliari President Massimo Cellino thinks Juventus made the right decision in signing Alessandro Matri rather than Giampaolo Pazzini.

Juventus had long been admirers of Pazzini, but couldn't afford the Sampdoria striker and he joined Inter during the January transfer window instead.

Beppe Marotta then turned his attention to Matri, agreeing with Cagliari to loan the player until the end of the season with a view to a transfer worth €18m.
