AIA President Marcello Nicchi has revealed that the referees may be forced to resume the campaign without VAR.

The Referees’ Association chief has explained why VAR might not take part in an event of a resumption during the coming months.

“It could be something that we are forced to do,” he told Domenica Sportiva at Rai 2. “As you, today the VAR is in vans, in cramped environments, operators who are close to each other and you don’t know who they have been around before they arrived there.

“We wrote history with that Inter team,” Stankovic told Sky Sport Italia.

“Only over time do we realise what we achieved, it was truly incredible. For example, Juventus have not been able to do it, even after investing so much money.

Inter sound out Sepe

Inter have approached Parma about the possibility of signing Luigi Sepe as goalkeeping cover for next season.

Samir Handanovic remains one of Serie A’s most consistent goalkeepers, but he turns 36 in July and Inter have dropped points in his absence.

Therefore, Gianluca Di Marzio reports the Nerazzurri would like to bring in Sepe, who would act as a No 2.

The former Napoli shot-stopper has enjoyed regular football for Parma since signing from Napoli in the summer of 2018.
