Pirlo: ‘Juventus like PSG’

Andrea Pirlo believes Juventus are the Paris Saint-Germain of Serie A, and confirms contact with Inter.

The veteran midfielder left the Bianconeri to join New York City FC in MLS in the summer of 2015, and has given his opinion on the Italian top-flight from his outsiders’ viewpoint.

“Looking at Italian football from the outside, it’s not that bad,” Pirlo assured Sky.

Pirlo: ‘Balotelli, don’t go to China’

Andrea Pirlo urges Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli not to go to China as “he still has time to make it at the very top.”

The forward was one of the hottest properties in European football, but his career has stalled over the past two seasons.

Super Mario spent last season on loan at Milan, but injuries limited his contribution and the Rossoneri opted not to make the move permanent.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has made it clear that Balotelli is not part of his plans, leading to talk of a lucrative move to China.

Pirlo: 'Italy don't need me'

Andrea Pirlo assures Italy “don’t need me. I think I did what I had to” with the Azzurri jersey and tips Marco Verratti for the future.

The New York City FC midfielder is watching Euro 2016 from home, even though Claudio Marchisio and Verratti were ruled out by injury.

“I think all of us have the duty at a certain point to realise how old they are and what they can still give,” Pirlo told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Pirlo: 'Spain worried about Italy'

Andrea Pirlo believes “Spain are more worried” about facing Italy at Euro 2016 and sees “good omens” reminiscent of 2006.

The Euro 2016 knockout tie kicks off on Monday at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT) in Paris.

“This comes too early in the competition. Spain were supposed to win their group and then this would’ve been a great Final,” New York City FC midfielder Pirlo told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Pirlo: ‘Italy omission painful’

Andrea Pirlo admits it was “painful” to miss out on Euro 2016, but insists Italy can win the whole thing.

The New York City FC midfielder was not included in Antonio Conte’s squad for the tournament, making it unlikely he’ll add to his 116 caps.

“I didn’t like being left-out, but I have to accept the decisions of the Coach,” Pirlo told Times of India.

Reggiana approach Pirlo?

Mike Piazza’s new club Reggiana could try to coax Andrea Pirlo back from New York City FC.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pirlo is the dream addition for the side in Lega Pro.

Baseball legend Piazza bought the club this month and was in Reggio-Emilia yesterday to present his project to the town amid a rapturous reception.

Pirlo would certainly attract a great deal of interest, but the veteran Italy midfielder had said he wanted New York City FC as a lifestyle choice, so is unlikely to walk away after just one year.

Pirlo: 'Satisfied with Italy career'

Andrea Pirlo is at peace with the possibility of not going to Euro 2016 and tips Antonio Conte for success at Chelsea.

The midfielder has won the Scudetto, Champions League and the World Cup, so does it irritate him that he’s never won the European Championship?

“I am happy with what I’ve done in my career. Of course the Euros we lost in Ukraine hurts, but it’d be unjust to say I wasn’t satisfied,” Pirlo told Sky Sport Italia.
