Milan ready to pay Kabak clause

Milan are reportedly prepared to pay the €15m release clause for Stuttgart defender Ozan Kabak, but face competition from England.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Rossoneri have stepped up their efforts to sign the 19-year-old Turkish talent and are now ready to activate the €15m clause in his VfB Stuttgart contract.

However, that doesn’t necessarily mean a move will go through, as he hasn’t yet agreed personal terms with Milan.

Demiral has Juventus medical

Turkey international defender Merih Demiral is having his medical for a €15m transfer from Sassuolo to Juventus today.

The 21-year-old centre-back had also received offers from around Europe, but Juve worked out the details early and secured his word.

It’s likely Demiral will remain in Turin and not go out on loan next season.

He only joined Sassuolo from Alanyaspor for €7m in January, but made a big impact on Serie A with his performances, including two goals in 14 appearances.

Burak blow for Lecce?

Lecce have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Burak Yilmaz as Besiktas are not prepared to let the striker leave for nothing.

Lecce are pushing hard to find an agreement for Burak, with their sporting director Mauro Meluso even flying out to Turkey on Tuesday.

However, Gianluca Di Marzio warns Besiktas told the Serie A new boys in no uncertain terms that a free transfer was off the agenda.

Lecce fly out for Burak

Lecce’s sporting director has reportedly flown out to Turkey to clinch a deal for Besiktas striker Burak Yilmaz.

Tuttomercatoweb agrees with Sportitalia in reporting that Mauro Meluso will be in Turkey on Monday.

The website explains talks are already at an ‘intense’ stage and that Lecce hope to secure Burak on a two-year contract this week.

Juventus meet Demiral and Pogba

Juventus director Fabio Paratici was in Turkey last night to discuss the €15m Merih Demiral deal and meet with Paul Pogba.

According to La Stampa, Paratici was in the stands for Turkey’s 2-0 victory over France in a Euro 2020 qualifier last night, to watch both Demiral and Pogba.

The Bianconeri have practically agreed terms with Sassuolo for the 21-year-old Turkish defender at €15m plus bonuses, despite Atletico Madrid recently reportedly making the Neroverdi a €25m offer.

Calhanoglu heading back to Germany?

Milan’s Turkish left-winger Hakan Calhanoglu could potentially be out the door in the summer with a return to Germany most likely.

The 25-year-old’s future at the club is uncertain, as he is seen as one of the players to cash in on in the next transfer window, reports Tuttomercatoweb.

Coach Gennaro Gattuso vetoed any sale of the former Bayer Leverkusen man in the winter, deeming him important to his first-team plans, but several lacklustre displays recently might have changed his mind.

Report: Domagoj Vida to Roma

Roma are reportedly in talks to sign Besiktas and Croatia defender Domagoj Vida.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, negotiations are ‘in progress’ to take Vida to Roma.

The Sky Sport Italia journalist writes the Giallorossi are keen on strengthening their backline this month and have moved for the 29-year-old.

The former Dynamo Kiev stopper only joined Besiktas last January but has been linked with multiple moves away since helping Croatia reach the 2018 World Cup Final.

Official: Scuffet heads to Turkey

Udinese goalkeeper Simone Scuffet has officially joined Kasimpasa on loan until the end of the season.

The deal was confirmed on Kasimpasa’s official website, although there is mention of an option to buy.

Scuffet broke out in similar vein to Gianluigi Donnarumma, becoming Udinese’s starting goalkeeper at the age of just 17 in the second half of the 2013-14 campaign.

He went on to be included in best-youngster lists for various publications, but an ankle injury disrupted his development the following season.

Roma to miss out on Ozan

Roma look to have missed out on Ozan Kabak as Stuttgart have reportedly agreed to sign the Galatasaray and Turkey starlet.

Roma were thought to be preparing to pay Ozan’s €7.5m release clause, but reports in Turkey are now claiming Stuttgart will splash out a club-record €12m on the defender.

German publication Kicker disagrees a deal has been struck but does note only ‘details’ separate the player and Bundesliga side.

Juve in hunt for Yunus Akgun

Juventus, Chelsea, Wolfsburg and Benfica are tracking Galatasaray teenager Yunus Akgun, claim ESPN.

The 18-year-old plays primarily on the right wing, but can also act on the left or as a trequartista.

It’s reported all four European clubs sent their scouts to watch Akgun in action when the Turkey Under-19 team beat England at the European Championship this week.

He is under contract with Galatasaray until June 2020 and is seen as the heir to Roma star Cengiz Under.
