Lazio the real power in Rome now

Lazio have grown both on and off the field in recent years, as Susy Campanale sees them rivalling Roma to become the leading light in the Capital.

The Lazio motto in recent years has been La Prima Squadra della Capitale – the first team in the Capital. This refers to the fact they were founded before rivals AS Roma, but have historically always been considered the smaller club, in terms of fanbase, success and influence. However, things are changing in the Eternal City.

Keeping up with Immobile

Records have tumbled so far this season and Ciro Immobile is proving himself to be an excellent all-round striker for Lazio and Italy, writes Vijay Rahaman.

It's stoppage time at the Stadio Mario Rigamonti and promoted Brescia are holding Serie A’s form team Lazio to a 1-1 draw and it seemed that the Biancocelesti's current streak is about to end. Then a long raking ball from Francesco Acerbi into the box is headed down by Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, collected by Felipe Caicedo, who places the ball perfectly into the path of Ciro Immobile, and while falling to the ground he strokes the ball into the left hand corner of the goal.

Szczesny: 'Scudetto race for four'

Wojciech Szczesny sees Juventus in a Scudetto race with Inter, Lazio and Roma, warns Cagliari have talent and praises the purchase of Dejan Kulusevski.

Lazio's time has come

All the pieces are falling into place and Lazio have never had a better shot at a top four finish, explains Kaustubh Pandey.

Lazio have been Serie A’s best side in recent weeks. While their Europa League campaign was scuppered by throwing away leads to Cluj and Celtic, the Biancocelesti have turned that disappointed into an advantage in domestic competition.

Ronaldo loses first Final since 2013

Cristiano Ronaldo has lost his first Cup Final in over seven years, as until Juventus capitulated to Lazio today, he was unbeaten since 2013.

The superstar immediately took the silver medal off his neck and went straight back to the dressing room, not waiting to see Lazio lift the Supercoppa Italiana.

The Aquile won 3-1 in Riyadh and won this trophy for the second time in the last three seasons, when they had also beaten Juve 3-2.
