It's now or never for Napoli

The Scudetto race was transformed in just 10 minutes, so Napoli visit Juventus knowing the tide could turn in their favour, explains Emmet Gates

Just 10 minutes. That’s all it took. If Napoli defy the odds and win the Scudetto that their fans and seemingly every neutral in the world is dying to see, then this 600 seconds will be viewed as the most important. The most season-defining minutes of a throwing-all-their-eggs-in-one-basket campaign.

SPAL 'disappointed' by draw

SPAL President Walter Mattioli admits to being “a bit disappointed” with their goalless draw against Chievo.

The result at the Stadio Mazza last night extended their unbeaten run to eight rounds, but that includes six consecutive stalemates.

“I am a bit disappointed,” confessed Mattioli on estense.com.

“We knew that Chievo were experienced, tough and difficult to break down. Every point matters, it’s just a problem for us that Crotone were able to get a draw off Juventus.

Dybala dropped for Juve-Napoli?

Miralem Pjanic, Mario Mandzukic and Stefano Sturaro are in doubt to face Napoli, but Juventus could drop Paulo Dybala due to poor form.

There are now only four points separating the top two in Serie A ahead of Sunday’s Scudetto showdown.

Pjanic and Mandzukic missed last night’s 1-1 draw at Crotone due to injury and today they resumed training, albeit on a separate schedule from the rest of the squad.

Sturaro played at the Stadio Scida and he has been diagnosed with an Achilles tendon issue, so is unlikely to be fit in time for Sunday.

According to ItaSportPress, the Squali sent a request to the club so they could focus entirely on preparing for Sunday’s big game.

They’ll spend the next few days in a ‘ritiro’ – training retreat – with Coach Walter Zenga and his staff.

Pressure back on Juve now

With the Champions League gone and Napoli closing in, Juventus simply cannot afford to get the Scudetto showdown wrong, writes Adam Digby.

There is no escaping the fact that Juventus were fully focused on the Champions League this season. Just as it has in the previous three campaigns, UEFA’s elite competition has dominated the club’s planning, their approach to other games and of course Max Allegri’s team selection on a week-to-week basis. The recent quarter-final clash with Real Madrid proved that beyond all doubt, the Coach and his players very clearly taking their attention away from domestic matters in the matches surrounding that two-legged tie.
