There is good news from Argentina, as Independiente confirm that ex-Juventus star Carlos Tevez has been released from hospital.

Their current coach had been taken in on Tuesday night suffering from acute chest pains and kept in for tests at the Sanatorio La Trinidad overnight.

Independiente have now confirmed that Tevez was released from hospital and allowed to return home.

He must rest for several days and more tests are planned, but cardiac issues were excluded by doctors.

Tevez has had a rough few months, as he had also been struggling since a fall at his home, where he hit his head.

The former Juventus and Manchester City striker turned 40 in February and has been retired since 2021.

His clubs included Boca Juniors, Corinthians, West Ham United, Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus and Shanghai Shenhua.

Tevez wore the Juve jersey from 2013 to 2015, scoring 50 goals with 19 assists in 96 competitive appearances for the club.
