Mancini: 'Defeat changes nothing'

Roberto Mancini insists the 4-1 defeat to Fiorentina “changes nothing” and explained his unusual Inter tactics.

The Nerazzurri had won five out of five, conceding only one goal, before this home hammering.

“These are games that start badly,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “We conceded after four minutes, were caught on the counter and then there was the red card. It was impossible to come back from that.

Are Inter just getting lucky?

After a fifth successive yet unconvincing victory, Varun Mathure wonders if Inter are simply riding their luck in Serie A.

When Verona last visited San Siro, Nerazzurri fans were treated to a performance they have become accustomed to. Inter had conceded a late goal once more and were held to a draw. The result saw the team languishing in ninth place with just 16 points from their first 11 games.

The aftermath of the result saw then Coach Walter Mazzarri bemoan the onset of rain which served as the final nail in his coffin. Roberto Mancini was brought in five days later and he stated that his ambition was to take Inter back to the top in Italy and Europe.

Derby win shows Inter’s maturity

Inter’s 1-0 win over city rivals Milan in the Derby della Madonnina was an important sign of maturity from Roberto Mancini’s team, writes Varun Mathure.

It may not have been the most emphatic of derby wins for Inter, but their triumph over Milan on Sunday night was certainly one which tasted sweeter than many victories before. Not only did it maintain the team’s 100 per cent record to start the season, but it also was a hard-fought victory against their cross-city rivals.

Mancini: 'Inter have potential'

Roberto Mancini said Inter haven’t reached their “full potential” yet and praised Felipe Melo after the Milan Derby victory.

The Nerazzurri are top of the table alone for the first time in five years and the only side with a 100 per cent record after three rounds.

“It is difficult for both teams only three rounds into the season, as neither can express its full potential,” Mancio told Sky Sport Italia after beating Milan 1-0.

'Inter battled for Kondogbia, Perisic'

Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio calls Ivan Perisic 'the hardest transfer' and has great expectations of Geoffrey Kondogbia: 'His value will grow'.

“The only one who can give us a grade is the pitch,” he told Il Corriere dello Sport. “And not after two or three games, but at the end of May.
