Albertini: My priorities for change

The former defensive midfielder recently confirmed his intention to stand against President of the National Amateur League Carlo Tavecchio in the ballot to replace Giancarlo Abete as head of the Italian Football Federation.

‘Collina for FIGC President!’

Marcello Nicchi believes that former Serie A referee Pierluigi Collina has the credentials to stand for the role of FIGC President.

The Italian Football Federation are in line to shortly decide on a successor to Giancarlo Abete, with the choice seen as primarily between leading candidate and current President of the National Amateur League Carlo Tavecchio, and resigning FIGC Vice-President Demetrio Albertini.

However, for one of the deciding parties in the matter, head of the Referees’ Association, one former match official should be considered.
