Marcello Nicchi believes that former Serie A referee Pierluigi Collina has the credentials to stand for the role of FIGC President.
The Italian Football Federation are in line to shortly decide on a successor to Giancarlo Abete, with the choice seen as primarily between leading candidate and current President of the National Amateur League Carlo Tavecchio, and resigning FIGC Vice-President Demetrio Albertini.
However, for one of the deciding parties in the matter, head of the Referees’ Association, one former match official should be considered.
