Official: Moreno leaves Roma

Hector Moreno’s spell with Roma is already over as the defender has joined Real Sociedad on a two-and-a-half-year contract.

A move had been in the works since the start of deadline day, and Moreno will now be entrusted to fill the void left by Inigo Martinez after his transfer to Athletic Bilbao.

Reports suggest Roma have recouped the €6m they paid PSV for the Mexican, who played just six times at the Olimpico, last summer.

Roma leave No 10 vacant

Roma have seemingly left their No 10 shirt vacant for this season after Francesco Totti’s retirement.

Totti hung up his boots at the end of the previous campaign, and while Roma have yet to make a decision on whether to retire his 10 jersey, it appears no-one will succeed the club icon just yet.

However, this may be subject to change as the transfer window does not shut until August 31.
