'Porto want to keep Herrera'

Porto have made it clear that ‘we’ll do everything’ to keep Serie A target Hector Herrera at the club.

Inter, Milan and Roma have all been linked with summer swoops for Herrera, whose contract expires at the end of the season, but Porto’s President warned he would not give up the midfielder without a fight.

“It’ll depend on the will of both the club and lad,” Pinto da Costa told A Bola.

Report: Milan push for Herrera

Milan have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Porto and Mexico midfielder Hector Herrera.

According to Sport Mediaset, Milan have taken a ‘significant leap forward’ for Herrera as they are ‘working to find an agreement’ with his agent Gabriel Moraes.

The 28-year-old would appeal to the Rossoneri as his contract is due to expire at the end of the season, while their problems in midfield have been well-documented.

Herrera agent rubbishes Serie A talk

Hector Herrera’s agent has rubbished reports that he is in talks with Inter, Roma and Milan, while opening the door to a new contract with Porto.

It was said on Wednesday that Gabriel Moraes was flying to Italy for meetings with Inter and Roma and that Milan were ‘keeping tabs’ on Herrera’s situation, given the midfielder’s contract expires this summer.

Monchi says Roma will never go back in for Malcom, Genoa rate Krzysztof Piatek at €70m and that Daniele Rugani and Hector Herrera are ‘impossible’ to sign.

Inter are reportedly ready to make a move for Porto midfielder Hector Herrera, whose contract expires next summer.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Inter have switched midfield targets to Herrera after missing out on Luka Modric and Arturo Vidal.

The newspaper explains the Mexican has long been on the radar of Nerazzurri sporting director Piero Ausilio and could play in the Champions League after UEFA scrapped the cup-tied rule.

Roma reach Herrera deal?

Roma have reportedly reached an agreement in principle with Porto’s Hector Herrera, who will join on a free transfer.
