Former Milan hero Hateley recalls derby goal

Former Milan striker Mark Hateley recalls his historic goal against Inter, claims he was a better header than Zlatan Ibrahimovic and predicts a win for the Rossoneri on Sunday.

Hateley spent three years at the Diavolo between 1984 and 1987 and ahead of this weekend’s important Milan derby, he spoke to The Italian Football Podcast the goal against Walter Zenga in 1984.

“I always get reminded of it,” he told The Italian Football Podcast. “I've got it in my study at home. I have it in black and white and in colour.

Report: Zlatan wants to extend with Milan

Agent Mino Raiola has reportedly started planning for new contract talks to extend Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s stay at Milan.

The 39-year-old signed a new one-year deal with the Rossoneri in August this year, but Corriere della Sera reveals he aims to extend his stay in Milan.

The Swede recently returned from almost a month out with coronavirus and scored another brace against Inter in the Derby della Madonnina on Saturday.

Inter confirm returning stars are negative for COVID

Inter have confirmed that all the players returning from international duty have tested negative for coronavirus ahead of the big match against Milan.

Coach Antonio Conte waits for information about positive Alessandro Bastoni, who has concluded the quarantine period in the event of a negative swab and could be available to play against the Rossoneri.

Roberto Gagliardini, Milan Skriniar, Radja Nainggolan, Ashley Young and Ionut Radu have all tested positive for COVID-19 and remain unavailable for the Derby della Madonnina.

Milan derby, the time has come for the Rossoneri...

Milan haven’t won a derby in Serie A in the last four years and Isak Moller believes the time has come for the Rossoneri to end their negative streak against Inter.

Report: Rebic won't make the derby

Milan must reportedly cope without Ante Rebic against Inter this weekend, as the forward won’t recover in time from an elbow injury.

MilanNews has revealed the Croatian attacker will not be available for coach Stefano Pioli on Saturday night.

The report says he will continue conservative therapy and will undergo further tests early next week, hoping to return as soon as possible.

Rebic injured his elbow in a 2-0 win against Crotone in September and the Milan medics have reportedly decided it’s too early for him to return this weekend.

Kaka: 'Milan on the right path'

Former hero Kaka believes Milan have ‘found the right path’ and believes Zlatan Ibrahimovic will ‘make a difference until the end’.

Milan are currently going through a highly positive period under Stefano Pioli and are unbeaten in 15 League games and are yet to concede a goal in Serie A 2020-21.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic returned in January and the young Rossoneri side excelled with the 39-year-old in the squad at Milanello.

Gabbia has returned to Milan

Milan defender Matteo Gabbia returned to Italy on a ‘safe’ flight after testing positive for coronavirus.

Tuttosport reveals Gabbia returned to Milan from the trip with the Under-21 national team to Iceland and landed last night at Malpensa Airport.

He travelled with two others from Italy Under-21 who are infected, Reggina goalkeeper Alessandro Plizzarri and a member of the Azzurrini staff.

Inter: Young has COVID-19

Inter have announced Ashley Young has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Nerazzurri confirmed another case of coronavirus in the squad ahead of the Derby della Madonnina against Milan on October 17.

“FC Internazionale Milano announce that Ashley Young tested positive for COVID-19 following the tests carried out yesterday at Appiano Gentile,” the statement read.

“The English player is already in quarantine at home.”

Here we are again. Less than a week after Juventus-Napoli, new Covid cases jeopardise one of Serie A’s most iconic games: the Derby della Madonnina. The kick-off is seven days away but fans and Serie A lovers around the globe are already concerned about a possible postponement.
