Roma: Dzeko, Salah, Falque permanent

Roma announced they have activated clauses to buy Edin Dzeko, Mohamed Salah and Iago Falque permanently.

The trio were signed on loan with option to buy from Manchester City, Chelsea and Genoa respectively.

Towards the end of a multi-page financial statement released by the Giallorossi this evening, there was mention of future transfers.

It pointed out that these players were “at first signed on a temporary basis, transformed into definitive transfers after planned contractual conditions were met.”

Szczesny returns for Roma

Wojciech Szczesny returns to the Roma squad to face Bate Borisov in the Champions League.

The Polish goalkeeper has been out of action since the draw with Barcelona on Matchday One, but has been named in Rudi Garcia’s squad for tomorrow’s match.

Iago Falque and Antonio Rudiger have not been included, with captain Francesco Totti and forward Edin Dzeko also ruled out through injury.

Falque: 'We worked hard'

Iago Falque admits he “had to work hard” for Roma to earn a 1-1 draw against Barcelona.

It was a reunion for the Spaniard, who grew up in the Blaugrana youth academy.

“I am very happy, because it was my Champions League debut and we drew against a great side. Playing against Barcelona is special, but it’s not any kind of revenge for me,” he told Roma TV.

Falque: ‘Messi is from another planet’

Roma midfielder Iago Falque believes all Barcelona’s players are ‘phenomena’ but Lionel Messi is ‘from another planet’.

The 25-year-old came through the Catalan side’s famous youth system, but was unable to break into the first team.

Following spells at Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur and Villarreal, the Spaniard enjoyed a fantastic season for Genoa last term, and earned a move to the Giallorossi this summer.

The Lupi will meet Barça at Stadio Olimpico tomorrow, and Falque spoke to Esports Cope about the match.

Line-ups: Roma v Sevilla

Roma field an all-new front three for tonight’s Sevilla friendly, with Edin Dzeko, Mohamed Salah and Iago Falque.

The Giallorossi are playing their final match of pre-season, and have presented their squad for the forthcoming campaign to the Stadio Olimpico crowd.

Dzeko will make his first appearance for his new side after joining from Manchester City, flanked by fellow new boys Salah and Falque.

Falque: ‘Dzeko perfect for Roma’

Midfielder Iago Falque believes new signing Edin Dzeko will be ‘perfect’ for Roma.

The Bosnian arrived in the capital yesterday to a rapturous welcome, and is set to sign from Manchester City in a €20m deal.

“He’s a perfect player for us,” Falque told a Spanish radio station, as reported by the Gazzetta dello Sport.

Falque: ‘Working to reach Juventus’

New Roma signing Iago Falque says the Giallorossi are ‘working to reach Juventus’, as he’s officially presented.

The Spaniard has joined the Lupi from Genoa in a deal which could eventually be worth €9m.

Rudi Garcia’s men finished 17 points behind champions Juventus last season, and Falque, a former Bianconero himself, says the objective is to close that gap.

“We’ve been second for two years,” Falque reminded the assembled media.

Official: Roma sign Falque

Roma have announced the signing of Iago Falque for a fee of up to €9m from Genoa.

The Spanish midfielder will arrive on an initial €1m loan deal, though this is in essence just a way of spreading payment, as a €7m redemption will come into effect once he plays a competitive match.

“AS Roma announces that the club have signed a loan agreement with Genoa FC for the services of Iago Falqué Silva until June 30, 2016 for a fee of €1 million,” the Giallorossi announced on their official website.

Roma: Bertolacci and Falque deal

Andrea Bertolacci and Iago Falque will reportedly undergo a Roma medical on Monday, leaving Genoa for €16.5m.

The Giallorossi met with Genoa directors today and according to Sky Sport Italia worked out the final details of the double transfer.

Bertolacci was already co-owned by Roma, whereas forward Iago Falque is a new addition to Rudi Garcia’s side.

Initially it had been suggested the deal would be worth €15m, but Genoa managed to negotiate them up to €16.5m.

Roma near Bertolacci, Falque

Alongside the deal for Radja Nainggolan, Roma may also close with Genoa today for Iago Falque and Andrea Bertolacci.

This could turn out to be a fruitful day for the two clubs as directors Walter Sabatini and Stefano Capozucca meet in Milan.

As well as putting an end to the Nainggolan saga at Cagliari, multiple sources in the Italian media are reporting that the rumoured deal for Iago Falque and Bertolacci may be officially settled in the next few hours.
