Rossi: 'Donnarumma should stay at Milan'

Former goalkeeper Sebastiano Rossi recommends Gianluigi Donnarumma ‘to stay’ at Milan but insists only the Italy youngster ‘will be able to decide’.

The future of the Azzurri goalkeeper, who has kept 10 clean sheets in Serie A this term, is again uncertain due to his contract at San Siro expires in June 2021.

The 21-year-old has been linked both abroad and with a move to domestic rivals Juventus of late, but the shot stopper who came through the Rossoneri academy has yet to make up his mind.

Zoff: 'Buffon is the best'

Dino Zoff is glad he was “beaten by the best” after Gigi Buffon and Juventus surpassed his Serie A record.

The 1982 World Cup winner now has only the third longest top flight clean sheet streak at 903 minutes, as last night Buffon took his run to 926 minutes of football.

With four minutes against Torino next week, Buffon will break the all-time record set by Sebastiano Rossi at Milan.

Buffon eyes all-time record

Gigi Buffon has beaten Dino Zoff’s record and is now just four minutes away from becoming Serie A’s greatest goalkeeper.

Juventus already made history this evening in the 1-0 win over Sassuolo by becoming the first side ever to maintain 10 consecutive clean sheets.

Buffon is unbeaten in Serie A for 926 minutes of football, surpassing Zoff’s record from the 1970s of 903 minutes.

The only remaining target is Sebastiano Rossi on 929 minutes, set with Milan in the 1990s.

Zoff: ‘I hope Buffon beats my record’

Dino Zoff “wouldn’t mind at all” if Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon beats his clean sheet record.

Zoff is currently second in terms of minutes without conceding a Serie A goal with 903, with Sebastiano Rossi out in front on 929.

Sunday’s 2-0 win over Bologna saw Buffon close to within 93 minutes of the all-time record, meaning he could set a new record with a clean sheet against Sassuolo on Friday.

“Records are made to be broken,” former Bianconeri ‘keeper Zoff told Gianluca Di Marzio’s website.
