De Sciglio ‘fascinated’ by Premier League and Chelsea

Mattia De Sciglio admits he wants to stay at Lyon or move to the Premier League: ‘I’m fascinated by Chelsea.’

The Italian full-back joined Lyon on loan from Juventus this past October.

“At the beginning, I had doubts about this new experience, by I've changed my mind quickly. Lyon are a great club and it’s no coincidence they eliminated Juventus and Manchester City from the Champions League last season,” the 28-year-old told Tuttosport.

De Boer: 'Memphis would do well at Juve or Inter'

Holland CT Frank de Boer admitted he can picture Olympique Lyonnais star Memphis Depay at Inter or Juventus. ‘He will not be distracted by the rumours’.

The 27-year-old’s contract with Lyon expires in June and the Netherlands international has attracted interest form the European giants ahead of the summer.

De Boer is not worried about the rumours distracting the forward ahead of Euro 2020, but admitted he doesn’t know where he will play next season.

Juventus move for Memphis?

Juventus are reportedly targeting a free transfer for Olympique Lyonnais star Memphis Depay this summer.

The Dutch 27-year-old has impressed in Ligue 1 since his move from Manchester United in January 2017, but his deal expires in June.

The Netherlands international has scored 74 goals in 175 competitive games with Lyon, including 18 in 34 Ligue 1 games this term.

Calciomercato.com reports the Old Lady have several question marks regarding the attack at the Allianz Stadium and sporting director Fabio Paratici will be looking for the right answers.

De Zerbi linked with Lyon

According to beIN Sports, Sassuolo coach Roberto De Zerbi is one of the candidates to replace Rudi Garcia at Lyon.

The former Roma boss is unlikely to sign a contract extension with the Ligue 1 giants, and De Zerbi is one of the candidates to replace him next season.

Shakhtar Donetsk are also reportedly interested in hiring the Italian coach.

Garcia: 'There are few like Paqueta'

Olympique Lyonnais coach Rudi Garcia said ‘there are very few like’ former Milan midfielder Lucas Paqueta.

The Brazilian midfielder has scored seven goals and provided four assists in 27 games in his first season with the Ligue 1 side.

He moved from Milan to Lyon for a reported €20m last summer and the 23-year-old has impressed former Roma coach Garcia, who hailed the player ahead of the match against Nantes.

Lyon in for Belotti?

Olympique Lyonnais have reportedly joined the chase for Torino forward Andrea Belotti this summer.

Tuttosport reports the Ligue 1 side have targeted the Italy international, but the report highlights that Napoli and Roma continue to chase the Toro captain.

The report mentions Belotti as one of the main protagonists for the transfer market this summer, and yesterday the newspaper claimed Milan were waiting for the Granata star to move on a free transfer in 2022.

Napoli to release Bakayoko

Napoli have decided not to purchase Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea, so a return to France is possible for PSG or Lyon.

The 26-year-old is only under contract with Chelsea until June 2022, having been purchased from Monaco for €40m back in 2017.

He barely played with the Blues jersey, going out on a series of less than stellar loan spells at Milan, Monaco and Napoli.

Multiple reports in Italy are confident Bakayoko won’t be purchased outright by Napoli, as he has dropped down the pecking order in recent months.

Juventus have not lost sight of transfer target Houssem Aouar and reportedly hope Mattia De Sciglio can help them lower the Lyon asking price.

The 22-year-old midfielder has long been on the Juve radar, although they face competition from Arsenal.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Bianconeri hope Lyon will want to activate their option to buy full-back De Sciglio, who is currently in France on loan.

That would allow Juve to lower the cost of the €40m transfer operation by circa €10m.

Juventus loanee Mattia De Sciglio admits he’d like to stay at Lyon and reveals why he didn’t join PSG.

The former Milan defender joined the Ligue 1 side on loan from the Old Lady this past September.

“I’d like to stay here, but I am aware it’s not up to me. We’ll see what happens at the end of the season,” the 28-year-old told 20 Minutes.

De Sciglio was close to joining PSG in January 2021, in a swap deal with Layvin Kurzawa.
