Garcia: 'Roma mustn't relax'

Rudi Garcia complimented Empoli for their performance, but warned Roma “must not relax until the final whistle.”

The Giallorossi struggled in the first half, but three goals in 12 minutes swept the Tuscans aside.

“Compliments to Empoli, as they caused us a lot of problems,” the Coach told Sport Mediaset Premium after a 3-1 victory.

De Rossi: 'The perfect night'

Daniele De Rossi had “the perfect night” after scoring on his 500th appearance as Roma beat Empoli 3-1.

“It’s the perfect night, especially to score a goal, which doesn’t happen to me very often,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“We’ve only done really badly on corners in one match. It’s strange that we scored on a corner today when we fielded the seven dwarves!”

‘Strootman relaxed and happy’

Roma Coach Rudi Garcia assures Kevin Strootman is “relaxed and happy” and Leandro Castan is close to a return.

“I hope Kevin can return soon,” Garcia told journalists in his pre-Empoli Press conference.

Garcia: ‘Juventus still favourites’

Roma Coach Rudi Garcia believes Juventus are still Scudetto favourites but “we’ll try and upset the odds”.

The Bianconeri have started the season poorly, and are in 12th-place, with Lupi President James Pallotta saying yesterday that the team is “more than good enough” to win the Scudetto.

“The favourite is still Juve,” Garcia considered in his Press conference ahead of the Empoli match.

“Why do I say that? They’ve won four Scudetti in a row, it’s normal that they would be.

Castan: Words mean nothing

Roma defender Leandro Castan has claimed that words mean nothing and that his team have to do their talking on the pitch.

The capital club are widely seen as genuine title challengers this time around, but the Brazilian has insisted that Rudi Garcia’s men are just focusing all their efforts on doing well in games – not Press conferences.

“We had a good season last time and have to remember how far we’ve come,” he told reporters.
