Conte: 'Perisic not suited' to Inter role

Antonio Conte sent shockwaves through Inter by declaring Ivan Perisic “is not suited the role I am asking for, so right now the only place he can play is upfront.”

The move to a 3-5-2 formation is proving a problem for the Croatia international, who today only came off the bench in the second half of their 1-0 defeat to Manchester United.

“We are working, but the responses so far are not positive,” said Conte in his Press conference.

Conte: 'Lukaku can improve Inter'

Antonio Conte warned Inter “need to work on everything” after a 1-0 friendly defeat to Manchester United, while Romelu Lukaku "could improve our team.”

The Nerazzurri were almost always on the back foot in Singapore, rescued twice by the woodwork, and the only goal came from Mason Greenwood after Samir Handanovic’s save in this International Champions Cup opener.

Inter capitulate to Man Utd

Inter were beaten 1-0 by Manchester United after a Mason Greenwood goal, but were also rescued twice by the woodwork in the International Champions Cup game.

This was Antonio Conte’s first defeat on the Inter bench and he still had no genuine strikers at his disposal in Singapore, as Lautaro Martinez needed extra rest after the Copa America and Mauro Icardi has been frozen out along with Radja Nainggolan.

Romelu Lukaku, who is the subject of several offers from Inter, was left out against what could be his future club.

Conte to have Inter summit on Monday

Antonio Conte is expected to meet with the Inter hierarchy on Monday to discuss the summer transfer campaign.

The Coach has been unhappy with the speed at which the club is moving on the market, and said as much yesterday.

“There’s no point denying the fact we’re having difficulties,” Conte said yesterday.

“There is still a pretty big problem in players coming in and going out, but primarily those who are meant to leave.

Conte: 'Inter need to start selling'

Antonio Conte was clearly irritable in his Press conference when complaining Inter “are behind schedule and need to get a move on” with transfers.

The Coach spoke at a Press conference ahead of tomorrow’s International Champions Cup game against Manchester United and did not disguise his consternation.

“There’s no point denying the fact we’re having difficulties. There is still a pretty big problem in players coming in and going out, but primarily those who are meant to leave.

Inter 'offer €83m for Lukaku'

Inter have reportedly upped their bid for Romelu Lukaku to £75m (€83m), but it is still short of Manchester United's £80m (€89m) valuation.

According to The Sun and The Times, Inter are now prepared to offer £60m up front, with £15m to follow in bonuses.

However, the newspapers report United are still not budging and want the Nerazzurri to commit to meeting their asking price in full.

The Sun, meanwhile, claims there is already discord between the Beneamata and new boss Antonio Conte over the striker.

Conte: Lukaku, Icardi, Nainggolan...

Antonio Conte has confirmed he would like Romelu Lukaku at Inter and that both Mauro Icardi and Radja Nainggolan remain out of his plans.

Manchester United will face Inter without Lukaku on Saturday, amidst speculation of a move for the striker, whereas while Nainggolan has travelled to Singapore for the International Champions Cup, Icardi has been left behind.

“You know I like Lukaku, but he's a Manchester United player,” Conte said at a Press conference.

Antonio Conte has named his first Inter XI as it emerges Radja Nainggolan has been given the Mauro Icardi treatment.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Nainggolan did not travel with the Inter squad for their first preseason friendly against Lugano on Sunday.

General manager Beppe Marotta recently announced the midfielder, along with Icardi, did not have a future with the Nerazzurri.

Mou: Inter 'must' win Scudetto

Jose Mourinho has ramped up the pressure on Antonio Conte, insisting that Inter ‘have to win’ the Scudetto this season.

Mourinho last led Inter to the Serie A title in 2010, but he became embroiled in a rivalry with Conte when they were in charge of Manchester United and Chelsea.

“The Nerazzurri have to win Serie A this season. I’m sure they will,” the Coach told Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Portuguese was then asked about his next career move, having remained out of work since leaving United last December.

Lukaku perfect for Inter

With Inter continuing their pursuit of Romelu Lukaku, Vilizar Yakimov sees the Belgian as the perfect fit for both Antonio Conte and Lautaro Martinez.

The start of Inter’s summer mercato has been nothing short of remarkable. The Nerazzurri made a serious statement with Antonio Conte’s appointment shortly after the 2018-19 season ended and they haven’t taken a step back since then.

Snapping up a defensive lynchpin like Diego Godin on a free transfer surely looks like a bargain, while the arrival of two of Italy’s brightest midfield talents in Stefano Sensi and Nicolò Barella also speak clearly about the conviction of the Nerazzurri project.
