Suso: 'Giampaolo's Milan no team'

Suso admits he was “angry I didn’t see a team” when Marco Giampaolo coached Milan, whereas Stefano Pioli reminds him more of Gennaro Gattuso.

Milan decided to part with Gattuso after they finished just outside the Champions League places last season, but the appointment of Giampaolo didn’t go down as planned.

The former Sampdoria coach was axed after only seven games of the 2019-20 campaign and has since been replaced by ex-Fiorentina and Inter boss Pioli.

Suso hits back at Salvini

Milan winger Suso hit back at Lega Nord leader Matteo Salvini after the politician criticised his “grit and desire to play football.”

Former Deputy Prime Minister of Italy Salvini is a life-long Rossoneri supporter and has often publicly lambasted the players, coach and directors.

When the official Milan Instagram account wished Suso a happy birthday, Salvini replied sarcastically.

“Hoping that Father Christmas brings you a bit of pace, grit and desire to play football.”

Suso to become Raiola client?

Milan attacker Suso is reportedly in talks to become the latest player on Mino Raiola’s books.

Suso is currently without an agent after separating from Alessandro Lucci earlier this week.

He looked set to sign up with Manuel Garcia Quilon, who represents the likes of Pepe Reina, Jose Callejon and Theo Hernandez.

However, Calciomercato.it – through Spanish-based journalist Marko Calemme – claims links between the 25-year-old and Raiola are “much more concrete”.

Milan almost there with Juventus

Milan will be disappointed their tactical masterstrokes forced Juventus to play badly, writes Elio Salerno, but not enough to stop them winning again.

For regular viewers of calcio, it was a game that had an all too familiar feel about it. Paraphrasing a certain Gary Lineker, Italian football is a simple game, two teams chase a ball for 90 minutes and in the end, despite being second best, Juventus always win.

Suso: 'Chose to stay at Milan'

Suso “stayed at Milan because I wanted to” but has pleaded with fans to “have faith in me”, arguing “I don’t need to prove anything.”

Milan supporters have given Suso a lot of stick this term, but he responded with a cheeky free kick against Lecce, which secured Stefano Pioli his first win in charge of the Rossoneri.

“I really like being at Milan,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport. “I could have left in each of the last two years, but I didn’t.

Suso: Criticism still valid

Milan attacker Suso has conceded that his winning free kick against SPAL should not erase the "deserved" jeers or "fair" criticism of his performances.

Suso had been heavily criticised for his displays in a Milan shirt this season and hadn't scored a goal until last night, constituting his worst start to a campaign since he joined the club in 2015.

"A goal doesn't change the story. It does not erase a negative moment. Nor the jeers, [which are] deserved. Nor the criticism, [which is] fair," he wrote on Instagram.

Paqueta was very happy with the three points and is looking to kick on after a difficult period at San Siro.

“The win is very important,” the midfielder told Sky Sport Italia. “It will lift our spirits during this difficult time.
