Suso: 'I almost joined Inter'

Suso is happy at Sevilla, but reveals he had been very close to leaving Milan for rivals Inter and does not hold back on the coaches he worked with at San Siro.

The winger moved to Sevilla in a January loan deal with €20m option to buy, which becomes an obligation if they hit certain targets.

“You never know in football, but I am very happy to be here and think great players ought to be in the Champions League,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

Suso: 'I want to stay at Sevilla'

Milan loanee Suso has settled at Sevilla and revealed he wants to remain at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan ‘for a long time’.

Sevilla picked up the Spanish 26-year-old on a loan deal with an obligation to buy with conditions in January and with the side at third in La Liga, the chance of the performance-based clause being triggered seems highly likely.

The winger, who has played six games in La Liga this term, has claimed he’s happy in Seville and felt the team were in the middle of a good moment when the season got interrupted by the pandemic.

La Liga proposal could complete Suso move

Milan loanee Suso would move immediately on a permanent deal to Sevilla in case the current La Liga season cannot be finished.

The indefinite suspension of football has led to growing fears of not being able to complete the 2019-20 season in Spain and in the event of no resumption, the Spanish FA has confirmed its proposal to send Barcelona, Real Madrid, Sevilla and Real Sociedad to the Champions League next season.

Suso heart set on Sevilla

Suso has no intention of returning to Milan, even if Sevilla fail to qualify for the Champions League. “There are many different options allowing me to stay.”

The Spaniard made the move on loan in January with option to buy for €20m, believed to become an obligation if Sevilla make it into the top four.

“There are many different options allowing me to stay, but yes, if we were to qualify for the Champions League, then it’d be a guarantee,” Suso told Radio Marca Sevilla.

Suso: 'Can't build anything at Milan'

Suso hopes to make his Sevilla move permanent, because Milan “can’t create anything solid when everything changes each year. I had three Presidents, various coaches and dozens of teammates.”

The Spaniard moved on loan in January with option to buy and makes it clear he has decided his future already.

“I hope to play in the Champions League with Sevilla and to win something. I could stay here and I hope it does happen,” Suso told Spanish newspaper AS.

Savicevic: 'Surprised by Milan'

Milan legend Dejan Savicevic admits he “did not expect” Zlatan Ibrahimovic to make such an impact, but was surprised by the Suso flop.

The Derby della Madonnina against Inter is on Sunday evening, so Savicevic spoke to Radio Rossonera.

“I played in many derbies and obviously remember the victories with most fondness, like the 5-0 against Ronaldo’s Inter in the Coppa Italia, but it’s always tough against them.”

The club has changed a great deal in recent years and Savicevic did not see all this transformation coming.

The now retired midfielder told La Gazzetta dello Sport his views on the club where he spent 10 years, playing in 401 competitive matches.

“This is a very different club to the old Milan. Paolo Maldini and Zvonimir Boban are doing what they can, signing the players they could get, as there aren’t the same financial capabilities as the past,” said Pirlo.
