Boban: Milan derby like no other

Zvonimir Boban says the Derby della Madonnina is like no other as he remembers Milan’s “crazy” 6-0 victory over Inter.

San Siro plays host to the first Milan derby of the season this Saturday, and Boban instructed the Rossoneri players to “relax” against their city rivals.

“When explaining football, it’s often said that there are no words to describe certain moments and the derby is certainly one of these,” he told Milan TV.

Moratti: Sensi like Sneijder

Former Inter owner Massimo Moratti admits “I didn’t expect Stefano Sensi to be so good”, comparing him to Wesley Sneijder.

Sensi has made an instant impact at Inter since arriving from Sassuolo over the summer, scoring two goals in his first three appearances and holding his own in Antonio Conte’s midfield.

“The Zhang family members are very kind, both Steven and his father,” Moratti told Corriere dello Sport.

'Milan want to be further ahead'

Milan chief Zvonimir Boban has admitted that “we hoped to be further ahead” but urged fans to believe in the ‘process’.

Milan have won two of their first three Serie A games under Marco Giampaolo, but they have scored just two goals so far and face League leaders Inter in the Derby della Madonnina this weekend.

“It was a crazy transfer window, with a thousand agents who wanted to explain football to us,” Boban told reporters.

Theo: Milan will beat Inter

Theo Hernandez insists he is ‘sure’ Milan will beat Inter in the Derby della Madonnina later this month.

Theo is still recovering from an ankle injury, which kept him out for the majority of preseason, but the former Real Madrid left-back should be available for the San Siro showdown on September 21.

“I really want to play in it,” he told Sport Mediaset.

“It’s the first Milan derby that I’ll have played in. I’m sure we’ll win it if we put in a lot of effort.”

Biglia: Kessie scrap 'sickened' me

Lucas Biglia admits ‘I felt sick to my stomach for weeks’ after his derby scrap with Milan teammate Franck Kessie.

The pair brawled on the bench during Milan’s 3-2 defeat to Inter in March, and Biglia was unhappy with his role in the incident.

“I felt sick to my stomach for 3-4 weeks because I don’t like making a fool of myself,” the Argentine told DAZN.

“I didn’t hold it against him, I wanted to show the need for support of a teammate who was entering the field.

Inter: Icardi taunts Milan

Inter striker Mauro Icardi declared Milan was ‘only black and blue’ after his side’s Derby della Madonnina victory on Sunday.

“Milan is only black and blue,” read the 26-year-old’s post on Instagram, which saw Milan Cathedral draped in the Beneamata’s colours.

Mancini: Can't ignore Quagliarella

Italy CT Roberto Mancini has admitted that ‘I couldn’t not call up’ Sampdoria striker Fabio Quagliarella, even if he is ‘getting old’.

Quagliarella is in line to make his first appearance for Italy in eight years against Finland or Liechtensten over the next fortnight, but some have focused on his 36 years of age than his 21 goals for Samp this season…

“Inter had a good game, an excellent match,” Mancini told Domenica Sportiva, referring to the Derby della Madonnina on Sunday.
