Milan name squad for derby

Milan have named their squad for tomorrow’s Derby della Madonnina, with Lucas Biglia suspended.

The two Milan clubs are both going for the Champions League this season, and with the top two places already occupied by Juventus and Napoli, neither can afford to slip-up.

This evening Rossoneri Coach Gennaro Gattuso has named his squad for the rescheduled derby, which was rescheduled in the wake of Davide Astori’s death.

Spalletti: ‘Positive thoughts from Inter’

Luciano Spalletti says “positive thoughts” are behind Inter’s recent revival, as they prepare to face Milan tomorrow.

The Derby della Madonnina was postponed in the wake of Davide Astori’s death, and the two sides will face off at San Siro tomorrow evening.

“My players have done well to get back in to a position that is not decisive,” Spalletti explained in his pre-match Press conference.

The Derby della Madonnina was postponed after Davide Astori’s death last month, and will be played tomorrow at 17.30.

“Inter have changed in recent weeks, they’ve scored 10 goals and conceded zero,” Gattuso warned in his pre-match Press conference.

Biglia out of Milan derby

Milan midfielder Lucas Biglia will miss tomorrow’s Derby della Madonnina, as the Serie A suspensions are confirmed.

The Argentinian international picked up his fifth booking of the season in the 3-1 defeat to Juventus on Saturday, earning him a one-match ban.

That means he’ll sit out the rescheduled derby with Inter, which takes place tomorrow afternoon.

Milan derby over ticket refund?

Inter are demanding answers from Milan after they did not pledge to refund the Nerazzurri fans who could not attend the rescheduled derby.

The derby will be played on April 4 due to the death of Davide Astori, but Milan’s official website only stated they would offer their own supporters a voucher for entry to another home game if they could not attend San Siro that Wednesday.

Furthermore, the statement only referred to fans of the Diavolo and not those of their arch-rivals.

Three dates for Milan derby

There are three possible dates for the rescheduled Derby della Madonnina, reports suggest, but it depends on how Juventus and Milan progress in Europe.

Sunday’s clash between Milan and Inter was postponed due to the tragic death of Davide Astori, as were all Serie A games, but the derby is proving harder to reschedule.

While the other games will be played on April 3 and 4, Milan will be in Europa League action that week if they progress to the quarter-finals.

Li to attend derby

It’s reported Milan owner Yonghong Li will attend Sunday night’s Derby della Madonnina against Inter.

The businessman took over the Rossoneri last April, but day-to-day running is left to Han Li, Marco Fassone and Massimiliano Mirabelli.

However, MilanNews reports that the patron will be in attendance at San Siro on Sunday night when the Diavolo face their city rivals.

The game could prove crucial for Champions League qualification, which is Milan’s minimum aim for this season.

Calhanoglu made a slow start to his Milan career, having spent the second half of last season away from a football pitch due to a FIFA suspension.

However, he has become a regular fixture on the Rossoneri’s left wing under Gennaro Gattuso, with the side flying high in Serie A and reaching the Coppa Italia Final.
