Leonardo Bonucci admits the Derby della Madonnina is “different” from any other game, but Milan “want to win to pick up points for the Champions League race”.

Calhanoglu revels in ‘best spell’

Hakan Calhanoglu claims “this is the best spell of my career and personal life” after establishing himself in Milan’s first team.

Calhanoglu made a slow start to his Milan career, having spent the second half of last season away from a football pitch due to a FIFA suspension.

However, he has become a regular fixture on the Rossoneri’s left wing under Gennaro Gattuso, with the side flying high in Serie A and reaching the Coppa Italia Final.

Skriniar out to stop Milan momentum

Milan Skriniar warns he is out to ‘stop’ Milan’s momentous run of form as Inter have “no more time for fooling around.”

Milan are unbeaten in their last 13 games under Gennaro Gattuso and began their revival with a 1-0 win against Inter in the Coppa Italia at the end of December, but Skriniar believes the tables must turn on Sunday.

“We want to stop Milan’s run,” the defender told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“We gave them their confidence back in the Coppa Italia. Now it must be us who start over.

Di Bello for Milan derby

Marco Di Bello has been announced as the referee for this weekend’s Milan derby, with Davide Massa given Napoli-Roma.

It’s a big weekend of Serie A fixtures, as Juventus are at Lazio on Saturday night too, with Atalanta welcoming Sampdoria for a Europa League showdown.

Today the AIA has announced the Week 27 referees, with Di Bello appointed for Milan-Inter in the Derby della Madonnina.

Daniele Orsato will be on the VAR, with Daniele Doveri as the fourth official.

Cancelo: ‘Inter feel anxiety’

Joao Cancelo admits Inter “feel a bit of anxiety in playing well”, but assures “we’re working well” to beat Milan.

The Nerazzurri have been on a poor run of form, despite last weekend’s win over Benevento, and they face their city rivals on Sunday night.

“We feel a bit of anxiety in playing well,” Cancelo told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I think that anxiety is contagious. We’re trying to improve though and return to what we were in the first half of the season.

Antonio Candreva promises Inter “will give 101 per cent” in the Derby della Madonnina with Milan this weekend.

The Nerazzurri take on their city rivals on Sunday night, as they look to maintain their place in Serie A’s top four.

‘Icardi to win Milan derby, or…’

Former Inter defender Marco Materazzi claims “Mauro Icardi or a defender” will decide Sunday’s Milan derby.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport on Wednesday, Materazzi also gave Inter boss Luciano Spalletti some advice over how to approach the inter-city clash.

“What must Inter do to win the derby? Do what Gattuso is doing, playing with heart, passion and competence, things that Inter have shown they have and can’t have lost,” he explained.

‘Inter problems psychological’

Marcello Lippi believes “something on a psychological level” is behind Inter’s recent downturn in form.

The Nerazzurri did beat Benevento at the weekend, but they have slipped out of the Scudetto race and are even in danger of being caught by city rivals Milan, who they face in the Derby della Madonnina this weekend.

“Usually the less favoured team wins the derby,” Lippi, a former Inter Coach, pointed out to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Serie A fixture changes announced

The Lega Serie A has announced the fixture changes up to Week 29, with the Derby della Mole an early Sunday kick-off.

All Serie A matches are scheduled for 14.00 UK time on the Sunday, or 19.45 on the Wednesday for a midweek round.

However, games are moved for television coverage and to accommodate European competition, so the league periodically publishes a revised list of kick-off times.

Today the changes from Week 22 to Week 29 have been announced, with February’s Turin derby moved to 11.30 UK time on Sunday February 18.

Biglia: Milan career starts now

Lucas Biglia says his Milan career “starts now” after helping them beat city rivals Inter in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday.

Biglia’s time at Milan has so far been characterised by injuries and poor form, but he was widely praised for his performance during the Rossoneri’s 1-0 win against Inter after extra-time.

“My Milan career, let’s say, starts now,” the former Lazio midfielder told Milan TV.

“This win puts an end to our ban run of results and and gives our Coach the chance to carry on his work.
