Darmian looks to impress Mourinho

Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian insists he will be ready to play any role Jose Mourinho asks him to this season.

The versatile 26-year-old joined the Red Devils last summer but only played a bit part role last term, making 28 appearances in all competitions.

Speaking to the Premier League club’s official website, the Italy international also acknowledged that competition for first team places at Old Trafford will be strong.

“I think it is good to have a healthy rivalry when you are part of a great squad,” Darmian said.

Samuel announces retirement

Former Inter and Roma defender Walter Samuel announces he will retire at the end of the season.

The centre-back lifted six Scudetti in his time in Italy, one with Roma and five with the Nerazzurri, after returning from Real Madrid.

The Argentinian is now at Basel, but has told a local newspaper that he will hang up his boots at the end of the season, when he’ll be 38.

Juventus accelerate for Cuadrado?

Juventus could fast-track the redemption of Juan Cuadrado, in case Chelsea change their manager.

The Colombian is on loan from the English side, having failed to break into the team at Stamford Bridge under Jose Mourinho.

However, following a poor start to the season, Mourinho is perhaps not as untouchable as he once was, and SportMediaset is linking Atletico Madrid Coach Diego Simeone with the job if the Portuguese leaves.

Jose Mourinho praises Fiorentina Coach Paulo Sousa: 'He was humble and only came to Serie A when he was ready'.

The Portuguese Coach became famous in Italy for winning the triplete with Inter, the combination of Scudetto, Champions League and Coppa Italia, but he is struggling with Chelsea at the moment.

“I don't know what's wrong, the results with Chelsea at the moment are really negative,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport, as he currently sits at sixteenth in the English Premier League.

Pandev: ‘Coppa with Genoa’

Goran Pandev declares he would like to ‘bring home the Coppa Italia’ for his new side Genoa.

The Macedonian international returned to Serie A from Galatasaray, having previously spent time at Lazio, Napoli and Inter.

“Genoa is a big club,” Pandev told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Mourinho: ‘Can’t speak about Pogba’

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho ‘can’t speak’ about Paul Pogba, but takes a swipe at Juventus Coach Massimiliano Allegri.

British media claimed this week that the English side were offering Juan Cuadrado plus cash for the Bianconeri midfielder, but the Blues manager would not be drawn on the rumours.
