Peres talks with Benfica

Roma have reportedly sent emissaries to negotiate for a Bruno Peres sale to Benfica, as they are favourites ahead of Galatasaray.

According to Il Messaggero and A Bola, the Giallorossi have one of their representatives in Lisbon this weekend to discuss the terms.

Peres has struggled for playing time and made too many defensive errors in Coach Eusebio Di Francesco’s 4-3-3 formation.

Galatasaray want Bruno Peres

Galatasaray are reportedly interested in Bruno Peres, and Roma would be willing to sell for around €12m.

The Brazilian full-back is out of favour under Eusebio Di Francesco this season, and has been linked with an exit this month.

Benfica were thought to be in pole position for his signature, but Premium Sport reports there is now interest from Turkish giants Galatasaray.

The Lupi would ask for around €12m for the defender they bought from Torino in 2016, but they could do business on the basis of a loan with obligation to buy.

Roma can turn this around

There’s no reason for panic in the Giallorossi camp, as Vilizar Yakimov feels some minor changes can save their season.

A turbulent summer saw Roma losing some of their most valuable players, as Mohamed Salah, Antonio Rudiger and Leandro Paredes all left the Capital club and moved abroad. Add to that the retirement of the iconic Francesco Totti and you can easily see why even the most optimistic tifosi were not fancying Roma’s chances at the start of the season.

The Brazilian has struggled to hold down a place in the side under Eusebio Di Francesco, making 10 Serie A appearances so far this season.

According to Il Tempo, sporting director Monchi has met with Peres’ agent as well as an Italian intermediary about a sale.

The most likely destination would be Benfica, but the Giallorossi want at least €10m to sell the full-back.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, director of sport Monchi has set his sights on Juanfran as a January addition to the squad.
