The former goalkeeper was involved in a serious car accident on Saturday night and had the spleen removed at the Gemelli hospital.

Roma director Morgan De Sanctis was operated in the last hours at the Gemelli hospital and reports reveal he is conscious, and his situation is under control.

De Sanctis hospitalised after car accident

Roma director Morgan De Sanctis was reportedly involved in a serious car accident last night and the former goalkeeper underwent surgery this morning.

Il Messaggero reports the 43-year-old was involved in an accident on Via Cristoforo Colombo during the night and the Giallorossi manager initially arrived at the Villa Stuart Clinic in Rome for the first checks.

He was then transported to the Agostino Gemelli hospital to examine for any internal bleeding and monitor head trauma.

Liverani: 'Parma need time'

Parma coach Fabio Liverani said his Gialloblu ‘need time’ but was happy with ‘the attitude’ on display in the 3-1 win against Pescara.

Yann Karamoh scored a first-half brace before Andrea Adorante added the third in the second half and Liverani was happy with how the team ‘approached’ the Coppa Italia match.

“What we are looking for is the spirit, which is growing as a team and the best thing is the attitude and the seriousness in which we approached this match,” Liverani said.

Another COVID-19 case at Parma

Parma announce that another player has tested positive for COVID-19, after he had originally recovered.

The Ducali play Pescara in the Coppa Italia today and therefore had swabs as per protocol 48 hours before kick-off.

“Parma Calcio 1913 can announce that the round of testing undertaken 24 hours ahead of today’s Coppa Italia fixture with Pescara returned negative results for every member of the team group.

“The only exception was one player, who tested positive and will therefore be unavailable for today’s game.

Pescara: Bellanova has COVID

Pescara have officially announced Raoul Bellanova was one of the three Italy Under-21 players to test positive for coronavirus.

The club has released a statement to confirm the news on after Italy Under-21 found three new cases of COVID-19 yesterday.

“Raoul Bellanova, currently with the Under-21 national team, has tested positive for COVID-19,” the club wrote.

Pescara take Riccardi from Roma

Pescara have signed Roma and Italy starlet Alessio Riccardi on loan with an option to buy.

Pescara’s official website states Roma have first refusal on Riccardi next summer.

The 19-year-old made his senior debut for the Giallorossi in January 2019, playing eight minutes of a 4-0 win against Virtus Entella in the Coppa Italia.

However, they remain his only minutes in a Lupi shirt and the former Juventus target will now look to progress his career with the Delfini.

OFFICIAL: Double swoop for Genoa

Genoa have officially signed Filippo Melegoni and Milan Badelj, from Atalanta and Lazio respectively.

The Rossoblu confirmed a loan deal for Melegoni for 2020-21 and the midfielder moves on another loan stint after having returned from Pescara this summer.

Badelj arrives on a three-year contract, after the Croatia international spent 2019-20 on loan with Fiorentina.

He signs a permanent deal until June 2023 with the Grifoni, after having appeared 23 times for the Biancocelesti.

Bojinov leaves Pescara

Valeri Bojinov leaves Pescara and rejoins Levski Sofia for the third time in his career.

The Bulgarian club announced the return through their official channels and the 34-year-old leaves the Serie B side after only seven months.

The centre-forward first joined Levski Sofia in January 2014, but returned to Italy in September the same year, before he moved back to Sofia in February 2019.

Bojinov, who joined Lecce in July 1998, has played at Fiorentina, Juventus, Parma, Hellas Verona, Vicenza and Ternana in Italy.

Melegoni set for Genoa

Genoa have reportedly won the chase for Atalanta midfielder Filippo Melegoni, who will arrive on a two-year loan with an obligation to buy.

Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports the Rossoblu beat Parma in the battle for the 21-year-old, who spent last season on loan with Pescara in Serie B.

The centre-midfielder should arrive in Genoa tonight and carry out the usual medical visit tomorrow, before signing a deal with the Grifoni.
