Buffon: 'Juve fan up to the age of seven'

Juventus stopper Gianluigi Buffon says he was a fan of the Bianconeri up to the age of seven as a child, and that he hasn’t retired because he’s “fine and wants to respect the dreams I had as a child.”

Buffon gave an interview to Juventus’ TV channel in the midst of the Coronavirus, and revealed some interesting tidbits.

It was always thought that Buffon grew up as a Genoa fan, but he revealed otherwise.

Inzaghi: 'Stop everything'

Filippo Inzaghi wants to see Benevento celebrate with their fans present and calls for the governing bodies to “stop everything”.

Benevento are top of Serie B, with a gap of 20 points down to Crotone on second in the table.

But the match against Pescara on Sunday was carried out behind closed doors and the opposing players wore masks to issue a statement during the League game.

Pescara send Coronavirus message

Serie B club Pescara showed how seriously they are taking the Coronavirus outbreak by stepping on to the pitch with protective masks.

A statement from the club explained their actions during the game with Benevento this evening, which as with all sporting events in Italy until April 3, is played behind closed doors.

“Worried for the health of our players and opponents, we went into the game wearing protective masks.

“These will be removed only if the referee invites us to, seeing as this is not in the rules.”

Bojinov sent off before Pescara debut

Valeri Bojinov was sent off for dissent before even making his debut for Serie B side Pescara.

The veteran Bulgarian forward signed for the Delfini as a free agent earlier this month, after the transfer window had shut.

He was on the bench for the first time during this evening’s trip to Crotone.

His experience lasted all of 27 minutes until Bojinov was sent off from the bench for insulting the referee.

The 34-year-old spent much of his career in Italy with Lecce, Fiorentina, Juventus, Parma, Hellas Verona and Vicenza.

Official: Pescara pick up Bojinov

Pescara have officially announced the signing of former Juventus forward Valeri Bojinov on a free agent.

The Bulgarian forward has had been without at club since he left Botev Vratsa in January and has returned to Italy, where he has previously played 157 times in Serie A.

His last club was Ternana and Bojinov left to play for Partizan Belgrade in July 2015, after previous attempts to establish himself in both England and Portugal.

The 33-year-old has now been unveiled as Pescara’s new forward, five years after he left the country.

Matri weighs up his options

Alessandro Matri has reportedly declined an approach by Pescara and has been keeping fit by training with Monza whilst he weighs up his options.

The 35-year-old left Sassuolo in January and is currently on the market as a free agent, but Gianluca Di Marzio reports that he has rejected the opportunity to sign with Pescara this month.

The Sky Sport Italia journalist continues to write that Matri has used his link with Monza coach Cristian Brocchi from his time at Milan – to stay in shape ahead of his next move.

Bojinov: 'Wanted Italy return'

Valeri Bojinov flew in for his medical with Serie B side Pescara and confessed he “really wanted to come back to Italy.”

The Bulgarian is a free agent who turns 34 next week and spent much of his career in Italy with Lecce, Fiorentina, Juventus, Parma and Hellas Verona.

“I really wanted to come back to Italy, but until there’s ink on paper, I can’t say anything,” Bojinov told Gianlucadimarzio.com.

He had also been linked with Catania and warned the decision has not yet entirely been made.
