Veratti's new PSG deal worth €17m?

Marco Verratti has signed a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain, keeping him at Parc des Princes until 2024 on a deal reportedly worth €17m a year.

The new lucrative agreement means the Italy international will stay put for a 12-year stint in Paris, as he has been a key member for the Ligue 1 champions since 2012-13.

He made the move after rising into the spotlight through his performances at Pescara in Serie B and has been plying his trade in the French capital ever since.

Pescara: 'Racism must be challenged'

Pescara President Daniele Sebastiani discussed his club’s celebration of losing a racist fan. “This cannot be allowed to pass unchallenged.”

The Serie B side’s Twitter account received a message from a supporter complaining that their anti-racism stance was “Communist” and “boring. You’re about to lose a fan.”

They responded with a tweet sparking a party to celebrate no longer having the user as one of their supporters, prompting a swell of positive feedback from other clubs, players and the FIGC.

Pescara won a six-goal thriller with Pordenone, Frosinone completed a late comeback to beat Ascoli and Pisa stunned Juve Stabia.

After two rounds, only Salernitana, Perugia and Virtus Entella have a 100 per cent record.

Juve loan Kastanos to Pescara

Juventus midfielder Grigoris Kastanos has officially joined Serie B side Pescara on a season-long loan.

The move marks a return for Kastanos as he spent the second half of the 2016-17 campaign at Pescara, making eight top-flight appearances.

Despite only turning 21 this year, he already has 19 senior caps for Cyprus.

He played 30 times for Juve’s Under-23 side in Serie C last season and was given a first-team run-out against SPAL.

Coppa: Verona out, Cittadella thriller

There were surprises in the Coppa Italia Third Round, as Hellas Verona went out to Cremonese, Empoli taken to extra time, a six-goal Carpi thriller and prolific Frosinone.

Newly-promoted Hellas Verona saw their Coppa Italia campaign grind to a halt at the first hurdle.

Alan Empereur had put the hosts in front at the Bentegodi with a powerful volley on a corner, but deep into stoppages Cremonese equalised through a Michele Castagnetti tap-in following chaotic defending.

Coppa: Monza to face Fiorentina

Silvio Berlusconi’s Monza shocked Serie B side Benevento to set up a tie with Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia third round.

Monza won a seven-goal thriller, surviving a late penalty to beat Benevento 4-3, and face Fiorentina in the next round.

Feralpisalo, Pisa, Perugia, Salernitana, Venezia, Crotone, Spezia, Sudtirol, Cremonese and Imolese, meanwhile, all secured Serie A ties.

So did Chievo, although the Flying Donkeys needed a penalty shootout to avoid a giant-killing at the hands of third-tier Ravenna.

Parma confirm Pescara swap deal

Parma have signed Gaston Brugman from Pescara, who have in turn taken Alessandro Martella and Fabian Pavone.

Brugman joins Parma on a three-year contract after a 2019-20 campaign that saw him score five goals and provide seven assists for Pescara.

The midfielder turns 27 in September and has spent practically his entire career in Italy since moving to the Empoli youth academy in 2007.

Pavone and Martella, on the other hand, will spend the upcoming season on loan at the Delfini.

Parma close to Brugman

Parma are on the verge of signing Uruguayan midfielder Gaston Brugman from Pescara, claim reports.

He turns 27 in September and has spent practically his entire career in Italy since moving to the Empoli youth academy in 2007.

The South American went on to play for Pescara, with loan spells at Grosseto and Palermo.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Brugman is expected to sign for new club Parma within the next 24 hours.

Last season, the midfielder contributed five goals and seven assists in 35 competitive games for Pescara.

Parma complete Pescara swap

Parma have sold Cristian Galano to Pescara, while purchasing Alessandro Martella and Fabian Pavone.

The Ducali completed the transfers this afternoon with the Serie B outfit.

Galano joins Pescara on a permanent transfer, while teenage sensations Martella and Pavone signed contracts to June 2024.

It is another move for 28-year-old winger Galano, who spent this season on loan at Foggia.
