Roma: Acerbi, Adriano for Spalletti

Luciano Spalletti wants Sassuolo's Francesco Acerbi and Barcelona's Adriano for Roma's defence, whilst pursuing Stephan El Shaarawy and Diego Perotti.

The Giallorossi had already been linked to the Little Pharaoh, currently marginalised at Monaco, and to Genoa's Perotti.

According to Sky Sports, Spalletti wants both of those players, along with a full-back and a centre-back to reinforce his defence.

Empoli to extend Rui, Tonelli

Empoli are negotiating extensions for Mario Rui and Lorenzo Tonelli and are optimistic about the outcome.

The defenders were among the main players that allowed the Azzurri to cruise to the end of the season without ever really risking relegation.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the club is now looking to extend their contracts in order to quieten any possible transfer rumour.

The negotiations are ongoing, but apparently the parties involved are optimistic about finding a resolution.

Tonelli: ‘Outrageous referee’

Empoli defender Lorenzo Tonelli described the refereeing against Frosinone as “outrageous”.

The Tuscan side went down 2-0 at Matusa in tonight’s match, with Coach Marco Giampaolo also criticising the officials, more specifically referee Marco Guida.

“The refereeing was outrageous,” Tonelli fumed, speaking to Lady Radio.

‘Tonelli would run to Napoli’

The agent of Empoli defender Lorenzo Tonelli says his client ‘would run to Naples’ to reunite with Maurizio Sarri at Napoli.

The 25-year-old formed a formidable partnership with Daniele Rugani under the tactician’s guidance last season, and would be open to following the Coach to San Paolo.

“Lorenzo would run to Naples,” Marco Sommella said of a potential Napoli move, speaking to Radio Marte.

“Also because Sarri is there, and he helped him to explode. He has a great relationship with he Coach.

Palermo: Defrel, Calleri or Araujo

Maurizio Zamparini confirmed Palermo will get one of Gregoire Defrel, Jonathan Calleri or Sergio Araujo, but Torino can’t have Andrea Belotti.

The President spoke to reporters at the team’s pre-season friendly and revealed how the hunt for Paulo Dybala’s replacement was going.

“There are three names for the attack: Defrel, Araujo and Calleri. We’ll see what we manage to finalise.”

Defrel impressed in Serie A last season for Cesena and has also attracted interest from Fiorentina, Roma and Premier League sides.

Palermo close on Tonelli

Palermo have reportedly agreed terms with Empoli defender Lorenzo Tonelli.

The 25-year-old has a surprising eye for goal, finding the net five times in 28 games during his debut Serie A season.

According to Sky Sport Italia and Itasportpress, the Sicilians set out the basic structure of his contract.

Now Palermo need to complete the negotiations with Empoli.

Denis: 'I lost control'

Atalanta striker German Denis apologised for punching Empoli’s Lorenzo Tonelli. “I lost control. I shocked myself.”

The forward scored a late goal in the 2-2 draw with Empoli last week, but struck Tonelli on the face in the players’ tunnel.

He claimed he had been provoked by ‘death threats’ from Tonelli, something the Empoli man has firmly denied, and Denis was handed a five-match ban.

Tonelli ban on hold after appeal

Empoli defender Lorenzo Tonelli will face Napoli tomorrow, as his ban was suspended “pending further investigation.”

The full-back was given a one-match ban for ‘provoking’ Atalanta striker German Denis into punching him after the 2-2 draw in Bergamo on Sunday.

Tonelli has vehemently denied making death threats to Denis and his son, who is a ball boy at the Stadio Azzurri d’Italia.

Sarri: ‘Tonelli injustice’

Empoli Coach Maurizio Sarri says Lorenzo Tonelli is a victim of injustice - ‘if I say what I really think I’ll get banned’.

The defender was punched by Atalanta forward German Denis after their match on Sunday, with Tonelli picking up a one-match ban for allegedly making death threats against Denis.

The Orobici man was banned for five matches, but Empoli’s Coach has compared his actions to those of Massimiliano Ferrigno, who put Francesco Bertolotti into a coma in 2000 after a match.
