Official: Fiorentina sign Biraghi

Fiorentina announced a deal to sign Cristiano Biraghi from Pescara for €3m and he will undergo a medical tomorrow.

It is a loan with obligation to buy at the end of the season.

According to Sportitalia, the operation costs €1m for the loan plus another €2m to make it permanent.

The left-back turns 25 next month and came through the Inter academy.

Biraghi went on to play for Catania, Chievo, Granada and since last summer has been at Pescara.

He is a former Italy Under-21 international with one goal in 22 caps.

Happy birthday, Max Allegri

Today marks the 50th birthday of Juventus Coach and former Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri.

Born in Livorno, Tuscany, Allegri began his playing career as a midfielder with Cuoio Pelli Juventus and his hometown club, as well as Pisa and Pavia.

In 1991 he made the move to Pescara, with the Delfini winning promotion to Serie A in 1992.

Despite the fact Pescara finished bottom of Serie A in that season, Allegri scored 12 league goals and earned himself a move to Cagliari.

Benevento eye Memushaj and Pavoletti

Serie A new boys Benevento are in negotiations to sign Napoli striker Leonardo Pavoletti and Pescara midfielder Ledian Memushaj.

This will be their first ever top-flight campaign, just a year after starting their maiden Serie B experience.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Naples side are in talks with Pescara for their Albania international midfielder Memushaj.

The Delfini would be prepared to release him on loan with obligation to buy at the end of the season.

However, Benevento face serious competition from Swiss side FC Sion.

Serie B: 2017-18 fixtures

The opening round of the 2017-18 Serie B season has been drawn up, including Pescara-Foggia for Zdenek Zeman and Bari-Cesena.

The campaign begins on the weekend of August 26, but the fixtures are only formed this evening.

It’s a return to the past for Pescara Coach Zeman, who immediately comes face to face with his former club Foggia, now back in Serie B.

Coppa Italia: Triestina open tournament

The 2017-18 Coppa Italia has officially kicked off with Triestina beating Arezzo to reach the Second Round and the other fixtures are on Sunday.

Triestina’s 1-0 away victory, secured by an early Davis Mensah goal, means they will face Zdenek Zeman’s Pescara in the next phase of the tournament.

Official: Udinese sign Coulibaly

Udinese have announced the signing of midfielder Mamadou Coulibaly but will loan him back to Pescara next season.

A statement on Udinese’s official website confirms Coulibaly has put pen to paper on a five-year contract with the Zebrette but will stay with Pescara for the upcoming campaign.

The 18-year-old made headlines last season, when he went from fleeing Senegal on a boat and living rough to eventually playing in Serie A for the relegated Delfini.

Udinese medical for Coulibaly

Pescara midfielder Mamadou Coulibaly is reportedly undergoing a medical with Udinese ahead of completing a transfer to the Zebrette.

Coulibaly was seemingly on his way to Inter, but Udinese’s reputation for blooding young talent has seen them take pole position in the race for the 18-year-old.

According to Alfredo Pedulla of Sportitalia, Coulibaly spent several hours being put through his paces by the Friuliani on Thursday.

Coulibaly signs Pescara contract

Mamadou Coulibaly has officially signed his first professional contract with Pescara, but he’s likely to join Inter or Udinese.

The midfielder made his Serie A debut in March, and attracted attention due to his arrival in Italy on a boat from Morocco.

He couldn’t sign a professional contract until his 18th birthday, which was in February, and today the Delfini have confirmed they’ve tied him down.

Udinese beat Inter to Coulibaly

Udinese have reportedly overtaken Inter in the race for Pescara midfielder Mamadou Coulibaly.

The deal was all done, with Pescara President Daniele Sebastiani saying “it should be done today” on Wednesday.

However, something stalled between the clubs and now Sportitalia claim Udinese are more likely to sign the 18-year-old.

Official: Caprari joins Sampdoria

Inter have officially sold Gianluca Caprari to Sampdoria and are due to receive Milan Skriniar as part of the overall deal.

“FC Internazionale can confirm that forward Gianluca Caprari, 23, has joined UC Sampdoria on a permanent transfer,” read the statement.

The move had been expected and will be followed imminently by the transfer of defender Skriniar to Inter.

It’s believed the Nerazzurri are paying €20m plus performance-related bonuses to get the Under-21 international Slovakian defender.
