Four clubs want Monchi

Four clubs, including Manchester United and Barcelona, are interested in Roma sporting director Monchi, according to reports in Italy.

The Spaniard is considered one of the best in the world in his role, having signed the likes of Ivan Rakitic and Dani Alves during his time at Sevilla.

The former goalkeeper is in his second full season with the Giallorossi, but has been criticised by fans for selling Alisson, Radja Nainggolan and Kevin Strootman.

Report: Atleti in for Gabigol

Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Inter forward Gabriel Barbosa.

According to Globoesporte, Atleti are ‘on the trail’ for Gabigol, who has spent the past year on loan at Santos but is due to return to Inter on December 31.

The publication explains the Brazilian side are keen to keep the 22-year-old beyond his loan spell but will find it ‘extremely difficult’ to do so for financial reasons.

Consequently, Los Colchoneros would be ‘monitoring the situation’, given their lack of goals this season.

Lautaro 'happy with Inter choice'

Lautaro Martinez is “very happy with the choice he made” to join Inter among many other offers, said his father, and can play alongside Mauro Icardi.

The 21-year-old was snapped up from Racing Club for €16m in July, fighting off competition from the likes of Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid.

“He is very happy in Milan as a city and at Inter as a club,” his father Mario Martinez told FCInter1908.it.

Kalinic: Why I failed at Milan...

Nikola Kalinic believes arriving late, injuries and being one of 11 new players were to blame for his disappointing spell at Milan.

Kalinic was one of Milan’s most expensive signings in the summer of 2017, arriving from Fiorentina on loan with a €25m obligation to buy, but scored just six goals for the Rossoneri.

The Croatia striker has since joined Atletico Madrid, although he made it clear he bore no ill-feeling towards the Diavolo.

“For me, it was difficult,” he told AS.

Atletico Madrid want Bentancur

Juventus reportedly turned down an approach from Atletico Madrid for Uruguay international Rodrigo Bentancur.

According to Goal.com, his performances for both Uruguay at the World Cup and Juve at club level won over Atleti Coach Diego Simeone.

Considering he is quite far down the pecking order behind Sami Khedira and Miralem Pjanic, Atletico Madrid thought they could talk the Bianconeri into releasing Bentancur.

However, the Turin giants are determined to hang on to him for the future.

Costa: Where’s Conte now?

Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa has blamed Antonio Conte for his departure from Chelsea. “Look where he is now…”

“It was a bad time for me, but it wasn’t my fault,” he told Marca.

“People said many things, but time puts everything in its place. Look at where Conte is now.

Roma need that Euro belief

Roma are struggling in Serie A so far this season, but Anthony Barbagallo says the Champions League fairy-tale can help rediscover their mojo.

Things on the domestic front look dim for the Romans. The disappointing 2-2 draw on Sunday afternoon with Chievo only dampened the side’s chances of staying in touching distance with Scudetto challengers Juventus and Napoli. The Lupi have only registered five points out of a possible 12 and now linger around mid-table.
