Simeone: 'Godin is an idol'

Cagliari forward Giovanni Simeone says Diego Godin’s arrival from Inter makes him ‘enthusiastic’ and looks forward to play with the Uruguayan.

The Uruguayan defender is expected to complete his move to the Rossoblu today and the Rossoblu forward, and son of Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone, looks forward to play with one of his heroes.

“An idol for all Atletico fans, he’s a symbol for us fans. He left his soul there,” Simeone told Radiolina. “He leaves something at Inter too.

Juventus lawyer: 'No agreement'

After the Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation into the exam taken by Luis Suarez in Perugia, Juventus lawyer Maria Turco has released a statement.

The Atletico Madrid-bound forward seemed set for a move to Juventus this summer before the passport complications stalled a move to the Old Lady, but the Uruguayan forward flew to Perugia for the examinations last week.

Morata: 'I had a desire to return to Juve'

Alvaro Morata believes he returns to Juventus as ‘a better player’ and revealed he always had the ‘desire to return’ to the Allianz Stadium.

Juventus have brought back the Spanish striker, who spent two seasons in Turin between 2014 and 2016.

“This is a great feeling for me to return here,” he told Juventus TV. “I have always felt attached to being here and I’m happy.

Torino fight Atleti for Torreira

Italian reports insist Torino are not yet out of the running for Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira, despite Atletico Madrid competition.

ESPN Uruguay claimed earlier today that Atletico Madrid had won the race for the player, beating Torino, Fiorentina and Milan.

However, Sportitalia and Torino transfer specialist Matteo Pedrosi both maintain this evening that the Granata are still in the hunt.

Official: Juventus sign Morata

Juventus have officially signed Alvaro Morata on loan from Atletico Madrid for €10m with an option to buy for €45m, but the loan can be extended for another €10m.

The striker had his medical at the Continassa centre in Turin this morning, having flown in from Madrid last night.

A statement released by the Bianconeri confirmed the financial details of the agreement.

It is a loan for the 2020-21 season at a cost of €10m with option to buy for €45m, payable in three instalments.

Torreira opts for Atletico Madrid

Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is reportedly on the verge of a transfer to Atletico Madrid, as Torino, Fiorentina and Milan could not agree terms.

The Uruguay international had been heavily linked with a return to Serie A, where he already played for Pescara and Sampdoria.

The Italian clubs interested were Torino, Fiorentina and Milan, but would not meet the €30m asking price.

Now ESPN Uruguay claim a deal has been done with Atletico Madrid and the two clubs are down to the details of the transfer.

Morata has medical at Juventus

Juventus have confirmed Alvaro Morata underwent the required tests at J|Medical and is expected to complete his move from Atletico Madrid today.

The Old Lady have decided to bring Morata back to the Allianz Stadium on a paid loan with an option to buy, an operation worth €55m in total.

The Spanish striker, who arrived in Turin last night, undergoes the necessary visit with the Bianconeri, before he will complete his return to Turin, where he spent two seasons between 2014 and 2016 on loan from Real Madrid.

Report: Suarez accused of cheating on Italian exam

Guarda di Finanza have investigated Luis Suarez’ Italian exam and reportedly discovered the Uruguayan forward knew all the questions in advance.

The 33-year-old Uruguay international had seemingly been on the verge of a transfer to Turin and sat an Italian language exam in Perugia to begin the process of obtaining an Italian passport.

Morata arrives for Juventus

Alvaro Morata has landed in Turin and will have his Juventus medical on Tuesday, completing a loan move for €10m from Atletico Madrid with option to buy for €45m.

The 27-year-old arrived at Caselle Airport at around midnight local time, greeted by supporters and media.

It is a return to the Bianconeri, as he already played here from 2014-16 on loan from Real Madrid.

This new deal is going to be a loan for €10m with option to buy in June 2021 for €45m.
