Roma propose Cavani contract

Reports in Uruguay suggest Roma are intensifying their negotiations for free agent Edinson Cavani, offering a three-year contract.

The 33-year-old striker has come to the end of his experience at Paris Saint-Germain, as his deal expires tomorrow.

Atletico Madrid, Inter and Newcastle United have also been linked, but Roma are emerging as very strong contenders for his signature.

According to Sport 890 reporter Gonzalo Ronchi, the next few days are going to be decisive in the talks between Roma and Cavani’s entourage.

Spurs, Atleti and Juve target Milik

There is expected to be a bidding war between Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur for Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik.

Director Cristiano Giuntoli has already stated the striker will “either agree a new contract or be put on the market” this summer, as his deal only runs to June 2021.

Juve had long been contenders for the Poland international’s signature, but were put off by the €50m asking price.

Report: Atleti talk to Milik

Atletico Madrid have reportedly held talks with Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik, offering to double his money.

Milik has scored 13 goals in just 25 games this season, but his contract expires next year and Napoli will sell him this summer if a renewal cannot be agreed.

Now, AS is reporting the Pole and his agent David Pantek spoke to Atleti sporting director Andrea Berta via conference call on Thursday.

The newspaper adds Diego Simeone’s side proposed a €5m salary, which would have ‘no problems’ convincing the 26-year-old.

Cavani quitting PSG early

Edinson Cavani and Thomas Meunier have reportedly played their last games for Paris Saint-Germain, so won’t stay on for the Champions League.

Ending Ligue 1 early due to the COVID-19 pandemic proved to be a rushed decision, but the club still has to prepare for the remaining European fixtures in August.

According to RMC Sport in France, Cavani and Meunier have informed PSG they won’t extend their contracts beyond June 30, so will walk away as free agents without playing in the Champions League.

Inter defender Diego Godin reveals he ‘never considered leaving’ San Siro and aims to help the Nerazzurri ‘win many titles’.

The Uruguayan veteran arrived last summer and has been struggling to convince in Serie A, leading to reports linking the 34-year-old with a hasty farewell this summer.

The rumours ‘surprises’ the centre-back, who signed a deal until June 2022 when he arrived at the Giuseppe Meazza from Atletico Madrid.

Theo: 'I want to stay at Milan'

Milan left-back Theo Hernandez has revealed his intentions of staying at San Siro and thanked the club and director Paolo Maldini for ‘having believed in me’.

Hernandez has been a revelation since his move to Serie A, after admittedly having struggled to settle in Spain.

Hernandez signed a contract until June 2024 when he arrived last summer and has racked up 22 games in Serie A, contributing five goals and three assists.

Napoli reunion for Cavani?

As well as Inter and Atletico Madrid, it’s reported Napoli are offering Edinson Cavani a contract, as his agent will ‘listen to and evaluate all options.’

Paris Saint-Germain director Leonardo confirmed Cavani will be leaving as a free agent this summer, so can choose his next destination.

Atletico Madrid are believed to be the favourites ahead of Inter, but now an intriguing third option has emerged.

French site Le10Sport.com claim Napoli have been in contact with the Matador to ask for a sensational return to the Stadio San Paolo.

Leonardo: Cavani and Silva leaving PSG

Paris Saint-Germain director Leonardo confirms ‘Edinson Cavani and Thiago Silva will be leaving’ at the end of the season as free agents.

Their contracts are due to expire and they have been linked with numerous clubs, including Cavani to Inter and Atletico Madrid, with Thiago Silva potentially returning to Milan.

“It’s true, we are reaching the end of the road with them,” Leonardo told Le Journal du Dimanche newspaper.

Inter try to convince Lautaro

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta wants to sit down with Lautaro Martinez and ‘make him understand’ that he will be better off staying at San Siro.

The Nerazzurri director spoke about the upcoming operations and the deals already done, revealing the move to Paris Saint-Germain for former captain Mauro Icardi had pleased all parties involved.

“Icardi was no longer part of our project,” Marotta told Corriere dello Sport. “We had to accommodate him in a satisfying way for him and us, and we did. The end was absolutely pleasant.
