Eto’o: ‘Samp always in my heart’

Samuel Eto’o bids goodbye to Sampdoria, but assures ‘you will be forever in my heart’.

The Cameroonian striker joined the Blucerchiati from Everton in January, but has decided to leave after just six months, joining Turkish side Antalyaspor.

President Massimo Ferrero posted a heartfelt goodbye to the former Inter man yesterday, and Eto’o has returned the favour on his Instagram profile.

Ferrero: ‘Goobye Eto’o’

President Massimo Ferrero confirms Samuel Eto’o’s departure, but ‘the doors of my Sampdoria are always open’.

The Cameroonian striker only joined the Blucerchiati in the January transfer window, but has decided to join Antalyaspor in Turkey.

“President Massimo Ferrero and all at Sampdoria salute Samuel Eto’o, who has terminated his contract with Sampdoria,” a statement on the club’s official website announced.

Antalyaspor: ‘Agreement with Eto’o’

Turkish side Antalyaspor confirm they have reached an agreement with Samuel Eto’o, who is set to leave Sampdoria after just six months.

It was reported yesterday that a deal worth around €1m had been agreed between the two clubs which would see the Cameroonian join the newly-promoted side.

Ferrero “would’ve kept Eto’o”

Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero has said he would have gladly kept Samuel Eto’o ahead of his expected move to Antalyaspor.

It was reported yesterday that the former Inter striker will join the Turkish club for around €1m after only six months with the Blucerchiati.

Ferrero explained to Il Secolo XIX that he would have liked to keep the 34-year-old at the club, but he wanted to leave.

Report: Eto’o agrees Samp departure

Samuel Eto’o is reportedly to leave Sampdoria for Turkish side Antalyaspor, just six months after arriving from Everton.

The Cameroonian striker has failed to settle since his return to Italy, walking out of training in February.

The former Inter man has been linked with an exit this summer, and Carlo Laudisa of Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Eto’o agreed a deal with newly-promoted Antalyaspor in Milan today.

Eto’o out, Cassano in?

Samuel Eto’o will leave Sampdoria this summer, but Antonio Cassano has agreed to return, according to reports.

The Cameroonian striker only arrived from Everton in January, but looks set to leave this summer, with MLS a possible destination.

However, according to Mediaset, the Blucerchiati have agreed a deal which will see Antonio Cassano return to Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Eto'o set for Antalyaspor

Sampdoria striker Samuel Eto’o is reportedly close to joining Turkish club Antalyaspor.

Blucerchiati President Massimo Ferrero confirmed last week that Eto’o is likely to leave after just six months in Serie A.

According to aksam.com in Turkey, a video conference call with Antalyaspor directors practically agreed terms for a transfer.

The 34-year-old Cameroon legend signed a contract with Samp in January that ties him until June 2018.

Massimo Ferrero says Sampdoria's Samuel Eto'o 'gave no signs' of wanting to leave, while clarifying on Antonio Cassano.

The patron of the Blucerchiati unexpectedly joined the Press conference in which Walter Zenga was presented as the club's new Coach, and he took the opportunity to reassure fans that Eto'o was not on the way out.

“He's a Samp player and he still has one year in his contract, so what's the problem?” said Ferrero.

Ferrero: 'Cassano in, Eto'o out'

Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero said Antonio Cassano is “51 per cent” likely to arrive, Eder is worth €15m and Samuel Eto’o wants money.

The notoriously outlandish patron spoke to Sky Sport Italia on the upcoming campaign under new Coach Walter Zenga.

“Can Cassano return to Samp? We’ll see. As of today it’s 51 per cent yes. Remakes rarely work, but we’ll see,” smiled the movie producer.
