Maxi Lopez: 'Zlatan said he'd smash my face'

Maxi Lopez reveals that being Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s teammate at Milan sparked some interesting clashes. ‘I like you, but next time, I’ll smash your face in.’

The forward is currently in Serie C with Sambenedettese, but spoke to Tyc Sport about his experience with Ibra in 2012.

“We were playing against Parma at the Tardini, I put a pass into the box for Ibrahimovic, he didn’t even move, he just watched where the ball was going.

Villar impresses in Roma friendly

Roma won their first pre-season friendly 4-2 against Serie C side Sambenedettese, with Gonzalo Villar providing two assists.

It took all of five minutes to break the deadlock, with Riccardo Calafiori setting up Jordan Veretout, quickly followed by Diego Perotti completing a team move on Gonzalo Villar’s assist.

Sambenedettese got back into it from the penalty spot with ex-Sampdoria striker Maxi Lopez.

Nonetheless, Roma continued to dominate and Villar created another goal for Henrikh Mkhitaryan on 31 minutes, dribbling past a series of players.

Lopez: 'Lotito runs Italian football!'

Crotone say they are considering ‘disciplinary action’ against Maxi Lopez after the striker suggested Lazio President Claudio Lotito ran Italian football.

Speaking to TyC Sports in his native Argentina last night, Lopez claimed ‘World War would break out’ if Serie A stopped and the Scudetto was awarded to Juventus.

More controversially, however, he described Lotito as ‘President of the FIGC’.

“If Italy does what the French did, a World War would break out,” he told the sports broadcaster.
