Ghirardi: 'I did good Parma job'

Former Parma President Tommaso Ghirardi incredibly insisted he “did a good job” leading the club that went bankrupt.

It was during his watch that the serious financial problems developed, while those who followed were unable to resolve the mountain of debt.

Ghirardi spoke to Pmi Magazine and broke his silence on the Stadio Tardini nightmare.

“I feel able to say that I did a good job. I took the club from bankruptcy under the Tanzi family to very important seasons, even qualifying for the Europa League.”

‘Ghirardi lied to me’

Tommaso Ghirardi misled FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio over the financial situation at Parma, the latter has revealed.

The Ducali were declared bankrupt earlier this month, with debts of over €200m, including €75m in sporting debt.

Former President Ghirardi has repeatedly denied that he ran the club improperly, but the head of the Italian FA has a different take.

Donadoni: 'Ghirardi must pay'

Roberto Donadoni is “disgusted” by Parma’s bankruptcy and wants previous Presidents to join Giampietro Manenti in prison.

The club was declared bankrupt on Thursday and placed under administration, while President Manenti was arrested this week for money laundering.

“The situation is tragi-comic,” said Coach Donadoni in his Press conference.

Parma debts revealed

The extent of Parma’s debt has been revealed, with total liabilities topping €200m.

In the official documents released by the court, the scale of the debts incurred by the club are revealed, with €74,360,912 amassed in sporting debts alone.

In the last financial statements available, from February 17, the total debt amounted to €218,446,754 with €10m owed to various banks and €25m in tax liabilities.

Lucarelli: 'We fight for football'

Parma captain Alessandro Lucarelli pinned the blame on previous owners and authorities. “We are fighting for football.”

The club is on the verge of bankruptcy with a reported €198m debts and called off their last two Serie A games.

“We had asked for the institutions to protect us and nobody, I repeat nobody, apart from the Players’ Association and Coaches’ Association paid any attention to us or the club,” said Lucarelli in today’s Press conference.

Ghirardi discusses Parma sale

Former Parma President Tommaso Ghirardi discusses his sale of the club, insisting he was ‘betrayed’ by Rezart Taci.

Ghirardi sold the Ducali to the Albanian oil tycoon in December, before the club was then sold on again to Giampietro Manenti for just €1 in February.

Galloppa: 'No hope in Manenti'

Daniele Galloppa said Parma “aren’t holding any hope” President Giampietro Manenti can save the club.

Parma’s debts are believed to be in the region of €197m right now and President Manenti is refusing to hand the books over to tribunals for controlled administration.

If he did, the club could be ‘saved’ and allowed to begin again from Serie B next season rather than the amateur League.

Cassani: 'Parma might not play'

FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio said Parma will play against Genoa this weekend, but Mattia Cassani warned that’s not guaranteed.

“We read Tavecchio’s comments and he said he was convinced the team will play. He doesn’t decide for us,” the player told Sky Sport Italia.

“If we have guarantees on the rest of the season, then we will decide whether or not to play.”
