Cuper: ‘Salah better at Roma’

Egypt Coach Hector Cuper says Mohamed Salah is ‘more useful at Roma than he was at Fiorentina.’

The former Inter and Parma boss has been in charge of the winger’s national side since March, and believes that the Gialllorossi switch will be good for the 23-year-old's development.

“Signing Salah was a very important step for Roma, especially for Garcia’s tactics as he likes to play with two wingers,” Cuper told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Rogg: ‘Salah? It’s up to FIFA’

Fiorentina director general Andrea Rogg says the Viola are awaiting FIFA’s verdict on the Mohamed Salah controversy.

The Egyptian winger spent the second half of last season on loan with the Viola, with the option to extend the deal.

The Tuscan side duly did so, but Salah vetoed the move, eventually joining Roma. Club and player are now in dispute over whether the veto stuck to the terms of the agreement.

“Today, Salah is a Roma player on a temporary transfer,” Rogg explained at a Press conference to introduce Jakub Błaszczykowski.

Prade: 'Salah shocked Fiorentina'

Daniele Prade says he 'never expected' Mohamed Salah to turn from Fiorentina, while renouncing to Milan's Philippe Mexes: 'He's not a regret'.

Salah was at the centre of a storm of controversy as la Viola attempted to renew his loan from Chelsea, but the move was vetoed by the player himself.

Fiorentina deemed the move illegal and FIFA's decision on the subject is still pending.

“We could have reclaimed Salah only in January, not in the summer's transfer window,” the sporting director said.
