Galliani: 'Monza made Ibrahimovic offer'

Adriano Galliani confirms an approach was made for Silvio Berlusconi’s Serie C side Monza to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic. “I proposed a two-and-a-half-year contract.”

It had been assumed Berlusconi was joking when he said “I hope he comes to Monza” rather than return to their old club Milan.

Instead, the former Rossoneri CEO and current chief at Monza reveals it was all true.

Berlusconi: 'Ibrahimovic, come to Monza'

Milan might have new competition for Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s services, as Silvio Berlusconi is getting involved. “I hope he comes to Monza.”

Berlusconi was at the helm of Milan for over 30 years, including Ibrahimovic’s spell at San Siro beginning in 2010.

He sold the club to Yonghong Li, but remained in football, taking charge of Monza in Serie C.

When Berlusconi was asked if Ibrahimovic would return to Milan, he had a different agenda.

Milan legends celebrate 120th birthday

Milan are preparing to celebrate their 120th birthday over the weekend, with former greats expected to be present for the game against Sassuolo.

The club officially turned 120 years old yesterday, but the Rossoneri will be commemorating the anniversary tomorrow and on Monday.

The club will present a raft of legendary players at half time during the game against the Neroverdi.

'Berlusconi has lived four lives!'

Adriano Galliani has paid tribute to the “four lives“ of ex-Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi, while revealing plans to take Monza into Serie A by 2021.

Galliani gave an interview to Corriere dello Sport, where he spoke in great length about his relationship with Berlusconi.

“I feel admiration for [Silvio] Berlusconi,“ he began.

“First, there was the builder. Whilst others were building apartments, he built Milano Duo [a neighbourhood] between 1970 and 1979."
