Monza pick up Boateng

Monza have reportedly signed Kevin-Prince Boateng, who will arrive from Fiorentina within the next 24 hours.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reveals the former Milan attacker, who spent last season on loan at Besiktas, has signed a one-year contract with Serie B side Monza.

President Silvio Berlusconi, who targets promotion to Serie A, has picked up the 33-year-old from Fiorentina.

Monza finished first in Serie C - Girone A last term and are building a team to push for back-to-back promotions in 2020-21.

Berlusconi released from hospital today

Former Milan and current Monza President Silvio Berlusconi will be released from hospital today after treatment for COVID-19, but his doctor warns 'it would've killed him' in April.

The ex-Prime Minister of Italy tested positive for the Coronavirus and was taken into the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan on September 4.

He was suffering from pneumonia as a side-effect of the virus and considered a high-risk subject, as he turns 84 later this month.

Mihajlovic: 'COVID nothing after chemo'

Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic insists COVID-19 was ‘like a cool drink of water’ compared to battling leukaemia, but hit back at social media ‘haters' who criticised him for contracting the virus.

He returned to pre-season training yesterday, having been excluded due to his Coronavirus diagnosis, but has now made a full recovery.

Many were worried when he contracted the virus, as he was a high-risk individual just over a year after being diagnosed with leukaemia.

Berlusconi condition 'improving' after COVID diagnosis

Monza and former Milan President Silvio Berlusconi’s condition is ‘improving’ after he was hospitalised with COVID-19.

The ex-Prime Minister of Italy turns 84 later this month and is therefore in the high-risk category for complications related to the coronavirus.

“Berlusconi is in the fourth day of the diagnosis of bilateral pneumonia related to SARS-COV-2,” Professor Alberto Zangrillo of the San Raffaele hospital in Milan told reporters.

Berlusconi 'breathing autonomously'

Monza President Silvio Berlusconi is in hospital after he was diagnosed with COVID-19, but his doctor assures he is ‘breathing autonomously.’

The former Milan owner tested positive this week after a vacation in Sardinia and was at the time said to be asymptomatic, but he was taken into the San Raffaele hospital in Milan.

“Over a few hours, during yesterday, I decided it was best to have him examined in the hospital after discovering a slight pulmonary issue,” his personal doctor Alberto Zangrillo told the media in a statement.

COVID-19: Monza President Berlusconi hospitalised

Monza patron Silvio Berlusconi, who tested positive for coronavirus on Wednesday, spent a night in hospital for thorough checks. Forza Italia senator Licia Ronzulli: ‘He’s fine’.

The former Milan chief, his children Luigi and Barbara and his girlfriend Marta Fascina tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week.

The 84-year-old was rushed to hospital last night with symptoms that required thorough checks.

Berlusconi has COVID-19

Former Milan President and current owner of Monza, Silvio Berlusconi, has tested positive for COVID-19.

The politician and entrepreneur, who was also Prime Minister of Italy, is asymptomatic and self-isolating at home.

The news was confirmed by his personal medic Alberto Zangrillo in Milan.

“Berlusconi was tested following a recent sojourn in Sardinia.”

There are naturally concerns, as Berlusconi’s 84th birthday is later this month, putting him in a high-risk category.

The Rossoneri play Monza at the Giuseppe Meazza on Saturday and the former President returns for the first time to face the ‘great love of his life’.

“Milan have been the great love of my life,” the Monza patron told Il Giornale. “It’s a glorious past that will always remain in my heart.

Official: Monza sign Corinthians talent

Serie B side Monza, owned by former Milan President Silvio Berlusconi, have officially signed Carlos Augusto from Corinthians.

It is a prestigious purchase for the team that was just promoted to Serie B from Italy’s third division.

According to Globoesporte, the deal is worth €4m, but Monza have only bought 40 per cent of the full-back’s rights.

That means any future sale would see Corinthians earn over half the sell-on fee.
