‘Sacchi congratulated Sassuolo’

Director Giovanni Carnevali has revealed he received the congratulations of Arrigo Sacchi after Sassuolo’s win against Athletic Bilbao.

The Neroverdi secured a famous 3-0 victory over the Spanish side in Thursday night’s Europa League group match. It is the club’s first ever season in European competition.

“We are doing well,” Carnevali told Sport Mediaset. “This is our fourth year in Serie A, we have developed all the way to reaching the Europa League, which for us is a dream.

Sacchi: ‘Napoli like my Milan’

Arrigo Sacchi believes Maurizio Sarri’s Napoli are similar to his great Milan team of the late 80s.

The Rossoneri lifted two European Cups with Sacchi at the helm, as well as the 1988 Scudetto, and the tactician sees similarities with today’s Napoli.

“The style of play makes the difference,” Sacchi explained, speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“The players improve through their commitment and their role in the play and the team. [Lionel] Messi is the best player in the world for Barcelona, but not for Argentina.

Baggio: 'Penalty still haunts me'

Roberto Baggio reveals how the 1994 World Cup Final penalty still haunts him, but he learned to forgive Arrigo Sacchi.

The Divine Ponytail ballooned the last spot-kick over the bar, handing the trophy to Brazil, having been one of the most impressive players of the tournament.

“Imagine this incredible scene. My dream comes true. I am at the World Cup, each game Italy progresses further. Since the second round, I can’t stop scoring,” he told the Corriere dello Sport.

Sacchi: 'Juve only team playing'

Arrigo Sacchi said “there was only one team on the pitch and that was Juventus” against Manchester City.

The Bianconeri fought back from a controversial own goal to win the Champions League fixture 2-1 at the Etihad.

“There was only one team on the pitch and that was Juventus,” coaching legend Sacchi told Mediaset Premium.

Sacchi: 'Ibra better than Messi'

Arrigo Sacchi shrugged off Milan’s transfer strategy and said Zlatan Ibrahimovic would be “superior to Leo Messi” if he were a team player.

The former Rossoneri and Italy Coach spoke to Radio 2 in Italy about the current situation, as his old club is on the verge of buying Andrea Bertolacci from Roma for €20m.

New Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri reveals a debt to Arrigo Sacchi and explains his midfield tactical approach.

The former Empoli boss finally signed a one-year contract with an option for a second season last night, replacing Rafa Benitez.

Sacchi: ‘Many problems for Inzaghi’

Former Milan Coach Arrigo Sacchi says current tactician Filippo Inzaghi has had ‘many problems’, and clarifies Inter comments.

The Rossoneri are 11th in Serie A following the weekend’s 3-2 defeat to Sassuolo, and are closer to the bottom of the table than the top.

“Inzaghi? This year there were a lot of problems,” Sacchi told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Materazzi-Sacchi row over Inter 'disgrace'

Marco Materazzi hit back at Arrigo Sacchi, as the ex-Milan boss called Inter’s Treble-winning team “a disgrace.”

Sacchi made the comments when asked about the possibility Juventus will win the Treble this season.

“It’s true Inter won the Champions League, but that team barely had a single Italian, so this is a disgrace,” said Sacchi at a book presentation in Turin.
