Serie A sides on alert for Umtiti loan

Spanish newspaper Sport claims that Barcelona are prepared to release Samuel Umtiti on loan, with Napoli, Roma, Lazio and Torino interested.

The 26-year-old France international was signed from Olympique Lyonnais for €25m in 2016 and is under contract until 2023, but has struggled for playing time due to numerous injury concerns.

The centre-back managed only 18 competitive appearances this season and Spanish newspaper Sport claims Barca are prepared to send him out on loan to regain his confidence.

Rangnick wants Schick for Milan

Future Milan coach Ralf Rangnick has reportedly chosen Patrik Schick to lead their attack next season, as RB Leipzig won’t pay Roma the full €29m.

The 24-year-old Czech Republic international spent this season on loan at RB Leipzig, partly because he was picked by Red Bull Head of Sport and Development Rangnick.

The loan cost €3.5m and there was an option to buy for a further €29m, but the German club let that expire, hoping to negotiate a significantly lower fee.

Nicolo Zaniolo has thanked Roma’s fans for their support while he recovered from an ACL injury and called for the ‘same attitude and focus’ against Verona.

The Turkey international defender has been working separately on an individual training schedule, but a statement from the club today confirmed he is now part of the group routines.

Demiral suffered the injury during the same match that saw Nicolò Zaniolo tear his ACL on January 12.

Spurs back in for Zaniolo, but...

Tottenham Hotspur have rekindled their interest in Nicolo Zaniolo, but he reportedly wants to stay at Roma.

Tottenham were unsuccessful in their attempts to sign Zaniolo last summer, but La Repubblica writes this morning that coach Jose Mourinho wants him in his squad next season.

However, the newspaper warns the Giallorossi will take no less than €70m for the 21-year-old, despite their current financial problems.

Furthermore, it is warned he will not necessarily accept a move away as his preference is to remain at the Olimpico.

“It was important to win here today. We put in a good performance, it was important to maintain fifth place,” said the coach in his press conference.
