Iturbe: 'My Roma wish'

Juan Iturbe has revealed his one wish “if I died and resurrected. I’d go back to Roma.”

Iturbe spent three years at Roma between 2014 and 2017, with the Giallorossi investing €22m in the Paraguay attacker, but managed just five goals in 68 appearances.

The 26-year-old is now plying his trade for Mexican side Pachuca, but he admits his heart is still in the Eternal City.

“When I was asked to go to Verona, I said ‘yes’ right away, but I wasn’t ready,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

Agent: 'Leipzig ideal for Schick'

Agent Pavel Paska has claimed Roma loanee Patrik Schick will be looking to stay at RB Leipzig. “It’s the ideal destination for him”.

Paska has revealed that Die Roten Bullen are “economically healthy” and pointed at an option to buy in the loan deal amid reports in Italy claiming the Bundesliga side will not afford the Czech Republic international, meaning the Giallorossi are waiting to welcome Schick back to the Olimpico.

Zaniolo: 'Better with each day'

Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo admits his ACL injury felt like “a hammer blow” but assures “I feel better and better with each day.”

Zaniolo remains on the mend after rupturing knee ligaments against Juventus in January and had been due to miss Italy’s Euro 2020 campaign.

However, he could be back in time to end the season with Roma if a coronavirus extension is granted, while the European Championship has been put back to 2021.

Spadafora: 'May 3 too optimistic'

Italy’s Minister of Sport Vincenzo Spadafora doubts that football can resume on May 3 and confirms plan to start “behind closed doors” in the event of a return.

The FIGC and the government are in constant contact regarding the suspended season, but the Minister of Sport has reiterated that Serie A must follow the “evolution” of the coronavirus pandemic.

Fonseca looking at 'future targets'

Roma coach Paulo Fonseca has claimed he “feels safe” in the Italian capital and revealed that he’s looking at possible targets for the upcoming transfer market.

The Giallorossi sit fifth in the suspended Serie A season and the Portuguese coach insisted that he hasn’t considered returning home during the existing emergency affecting the world.

Coronavirus: Slight drop in deaths

Coronavirus deaths have dropped slightly from yesterday, while 999 have recovered from the illness in the last 24 hours.

Thursday’s report from the civil protection, carried out by director general Agostino Miozzo, highlighted another 662 deaths – which is another drop from Wednesday’s tally of 683 but remain a high number of deceased every day.

Another 999 have healed from the illness and the total of subjects currently positive are 62,013. This means that the total number of healed rises to 10,361.

El Shaarawy: 'I miss Italy'

Shanghai Greenland Shenhua star Stephan El Shaarawy has called for a return to Italy, revealing that he “misses Italy” and his Roma “family”.

The former Milan and Roma forward, who scored 55 goals in 195 Serie A games before his move to China last summer.

He left Roma in a €16m transfer to join Shanghai Shenhua on a lucrative deal until June 2022. But the Italy international has only played 13 games since the move, as the new season has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic emerging in China.

Mancini: 'I learn from Smalling'

Gianluca Mancini says he is “proud” of Roma, urges the people of Atalanta to “never give up” and reveals he is learning from Chris Smalling.

Mancini spoke to Sky Sport Italia this evening about his life in lockdown as the outbreak of coronavirus sweeping Italy keeps football ground to a halt.

“My routine is to have breakfast and help my wife a little with household chores, seeing as I was never there before,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

Mkhitaryan: 'Prefer Fonseca's football'

Henrikh Mkhitaryan says he is “feeling much better” at Roma and that he “prefers” Paulo Fonseca’s football to what Unai Emery practiced at Arsenal.

Mkhitaryan fell out of favour at Arsenal but had been hitting form for Roma just before coronavirus brought the season to a halt, scoring three goals and assisting two in four Serie A matches.

“When I was at Arsenal, I had different things asked from me by the coach, people were expecting different things from here,” the attacking midfielder told The Times.
