Borja Mayoral agrees Roma move

Roma are finalising the details of their loan with option to buy deal for Real Madrid striker Borja Mayoral.

According to multiple sources including As, Sky Sport Italia, the Corriere dello Sport and Gazzetta dello Sport, his agents met with Roma CEO Guido Fienga this afternoon at the Giallorossi club headquarters.

The player is expected to fly in tomorrow for his medical and to sign the paperwork.

Kumbulla: 'Roma a step up in my career'

Marash Kumbulla assures he ‘did not hesitate’ when Roma made an approach to Hellas Verona. ‘It’s a step up in my career.’

The centre-back had also been linked with other clubs, including Napoli and Lazio, but opted for the Giallorossi.

“When I heard of their interest, it was exciting and I did not hesitate, because of the club, the city and fans. It was an easy decision to make,” said the Albania international in his press conference.

Report: Smalling close to Roma return

Roma are reportedly on the verge of signing Chris Smalling from Manchester United, having convinced the Premier League giants to sell for €15m.

Il Corriere dello Sport reports Giallorossi representatives travelled to Manchester to accelerate the talks and the newspaper reveals the defender is on his way back to the Olimpico.

The report says Smalling, who spent last season on loan in the Italian capital, has already reached an agreement with La Lupa over a four-year contract worth €3m a season.

Napoli forward Arkadiusz Milik seems set to continue at the San Paolo, as Tottenham reportedly move their attention to Carlos Vinicius at Benfica.

The Poland international saw his move to Roma fall through, as Juventus moved for Alvaro Morata and Edin Dzeko ended up staying in the capital.

Spurs were linked with the 26-year-old, but Sky Sport Italia reports the Lilywhites have decided against pursuing a move for the former Ajax centre-forward.

Report: Roma step up Smalling talks

Roma representatives have reportedly travelled to discuss with Manchester United, pushing for Chris Smalling’s return to the Olimpico.

The Giallorossi have, according to SportItalia, accelerated the talks and are hoping to reach an agreement with Manchester United as soon as possible.

La Lupa haven’t met Manchester United’s asking price so far, but interest from other clubs could force them to cough up, as coach Paulo Fonseca wants Smalling back after an impressive stint on loan in 2019-20.

Report: Nainggolan set for return to Cagliari

Cagliari are reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Inter over Radja Nainggolan’s return to Sardinia.

Sky Sport Italia reports the former Belgium international, who spent last season on loan at the Casteddu, seems set to reunite with Eusebio Di Francesco.

The broadcaster revealed the two clubs met to discuss the operation and Nainggolan, who is set to miss the match against Benevento tonight, could return to the Rossoblu for €12m plus two youth players from Cagliari’s academy.

Roma's Friedkin era has formally started

Roma have formally started the new era with Dan Friedkin as President of the club and Ryan the Vice-President, as Guido Fienga has been confirmed CEO.

Nine members attended the shareholders’ meeting as Friedkin was confirmed as new patron of the Giallorossi.

The nine members of the Board of Directors, who will have a mandate of three years, are: Dan and Ryan Friedkin, Guido Fienga, Marcus Watts, Eric Williamson, Analaura Moreira-Dunkel, Benedetta Navarra, Mirella Pellegrini and Ines Gandini.

Official: Falque moves to Benevento

Benevento have officially announced the arrival of Iago Falque on loan from Torino.

The Streghe have picked up the 30-year-old, who recently returned to Turin from a six-month loan at Genoa.

Falque is the latest addition to an impressive Benevento side, who started Serie A with a 3-2 win against Sampdoria last weekend and prepare to face Inter tomorrow.

The former Roma winger has played 166 games in Serie A, contributing 47 goals and 24 assists in the process.
