Strama: ‘Inter have Scudetto chance’

Andrea Stramaccioni sees a “great chance" for Inter to go top of Serie A, since Napoli and Juventus are playing each other on Friday.

The Nerazzurri are two points behind the Partenopei and two ahead of the champions, but one or both of those sides will drop points this weekend.

“I always follow Serie A and I’m happy for Inter,” the Sparta Prague Coach told Mondo Udinese.

“[Coach Luciano] Spalletti’s work is impressive, and they have a great chance on Sunday because of the direct clash between Napoli and Juve.

Stramaccioni insults Benevento

Sparta Prague Coach Andrea Stramaccioni caused something of an international incident with Benevento, so was called “a cretin” by the Mayor.

The former Inter and Udinese tactician said in a Press conference after Sparta’s defeat that “we’re not Benevento, you know.”

Le Streghe are propping up the Serie A table after losing all eight of their games this season.

This infuriated Mayor of Benevento Clemente Mastella, who replied in similar fashion.

Strama: ‘Sparta won’t sack me’

Andrea Stramaccioni insists he’ll remain with Sparta Prague “until at least the end of the season”.

The Italian Coach took over the job in the summer, but he’s been criticised by fans and was the target of protests after a 2-0 derby defeat to city rivals Slavia Prague.

“President [Daniel] Křetínský wanted a young Coach with experience at big clubs,” Stramaccioni explained to Gazzetta dello Sport’s Extra Time.

Andrea Stramaccioni reportedly risks the sack at Sparta Prague after a poor start to the season.

According to Sport.cz, Stramaccioni has been given an ultimatum by Sparta of winning their next games “at all costs”.

The former Inter and Udinese boss moved to the Czech capital back in May, but his reign started with elimination from the Europa League third qualifying round at the hands of Red Star Belgrade.

Chievo were close to Giaccherini

Emanuele Giaccherini was in talks with Sparta Prague and Chievo, revealed his agent, but Napoli refused to pay the salary.

The winger was on the transfer market this summer, though proposals tended to be loans or to clubs he was not inclined to join.

“Chievo asked me for Giaccherini on loan,” representative Furio Valcareggi told the Corriere di Verona newspaper.

“Emanuele would’ve happily accepted, but nothing came of it because Napoli were not prepared to cover his wages.”

‘Giaccherini unsellable for Napoli’

Emanuele Giaccherini’s agent claims the midfielder is “unsellable” for Napoli as “there was no-one better on the market” for the Partenopei.

Giaccherini had been linked with a deadline-day move to Fiorentina, but while Furio Valcareggi admitted he tried to take his client there, he was equally happy that the 32-year-old still had a role to play at the San Paolo.

“Being considered unsellable for a top European club like Napoli is a source of pride for us,” he told Radio Kiss Kiss.

French options for Giaccherini

Napoli winger Emanuele Giaccherini is still on the market with interest from Genoa, Olympique Lyonnais and Toulouse.

A transfer to Sparta Prague fell through last week and they opted for Inter’s Jonathan Biabiany instead.

Genoa were mentioned as an option for the former Juventus and Sunderland veteran.

Now Footmercato suggest a switch to Ligue 1, as Lyon and Toulouse have reportedly been in contact with Napoli for Giaccherini.

The 32-year-old was signed from Sunderland a year ago for €1.5m following his loan spell at Bologna.

Official: Biabiany leaves Inter

Sparta Prague have announced the signing of Inter winger Jonathan Biabiany on a season-long loan.

A statement on Sparta’s official website adds they have an option to buy Biabiany next summer.

FCInterNews.it claims the 29-year-old was brought in at “the express request” of new boss Andrea Stramaccioni, formerly of the Nerazzurri.

The 29-year-old returned to Inter for a third spell in 2015 after he overcame heart problems but made just 28 appearances in that time.

It’s reported that Inter winger Jonathan Biabiany’s transfer to Sparta Prague is done.

The Frenchman has been heavily linked with a move to the Czech Republic, as he’d reunite with former Nerazzurri Coach Andrea Stramaccioni.

Following reports this week that a deal is close, Gianluca Di Marzio’s website is now reporting a done deal.

There has been no official announcement from either club, but that’s expected to arrive tonight or tomorrow morning.
