Sparta respond to Biabiany claim

Sparta Prague have denied forcing Inter loanee Jonathan Biabiany to train alone.

FIFPro suggested Biabiany would report Sparta to FIFA after his legal advisor told the organisation of how the winger was being ‘mobbed’ by Andrea Stramaccioni’s side.

However, the Czech club tweeted back: “Players who are not in the first team squad since the start of the winter preseason are in the training group with the first team fitness Coach Stefano Campari.

Biabiany to sue Sparta?

Inter-owned Jonathan Biabiany is likely to report Sparta Prague to FIFA after being forced to train alone.

Biabiany’s legal advisor told FIFPro the situation was “a severe violation of the player’s fundamental rights” and that Sparta were ‘mobbing’ the winger.

The website explains training alone is “football’s version of solitary confinement” and “has been outlawed in newly-agreed FIFA rules on the abuse of players.”

Strama: 'Inter had to sell Coutinho'

Andrea Stramaccioni reveals what prompted Inter to sell Philippe Coutinho to Liverpool for €13m five years ago. “We had to balance the books.”

The Brazilian found fame at San Siro as a very young man, leaving for Anfield in January 2013, but only five years later completed a transfer worth at least €120m to Barcelona.

“I am not surprised by Coutinho’s move, as Phil has improved a lot in the Premier League, and above all playing for Brazil, so he deserved a top club,” former Inter Coach Stramaccioni told Panorama magazine.

Strama: ‘Inter have Scudetto chance’

Andrea Stramaccioni sees a “great chance" for Inter to go top of Serie A, since Napoli and Juventus are playing each other on Friday.

The Nerazzurri are two points behind the Partenopei and two ahead of the champions, but one or both of those sides will drop points this weekend.

“I always follow Serie A and I’m happy for Inter,” the Sparta Prague Coach told Mondo Udinese.

“[Coach Luciano] Spalletti’s work is impressive, and they have a great chance on Sunday because of the direct clash between Napoli and Juve.

Stramaccioni insults Benevento

Sparta Prague Coach Andrea Stramaccioni caused something of an international incident with Benevento, so was called “a cretin” by the Mayor.

The former Inter and Udinese tactician said in a Press conference after Sparta’s defeat that “we’re not Benevento, you know.”

Le Streghe are propping up the Serie A table after losing all eight of their games this season.

This infuriated Mayor of Benevento Clemente Mastella, who replied in similar fashion.

Strama: ‘Sparta won’t sack me’

Andrea Stramaccioni insists he’ll remain with Sparta Prague “until at least the end of the season”.

The Italian Coach took over the job in the summer, but he’s been criticised by fans and was the target of protests after a 2-0 derby defeat to city rivals Slavia Prague.

“President [Daniel] Křetínský wanted a young Coach with experience at big clubs,” Stramaccioni explained to Gazzetta dello Sport’s Extra Time.

Chievo were close to Giaccherini

Emanuele Giaccherini was in talks with Sparta Prague and Chievo, revealed his agent, but Napoli refused to pay the salary.

The winger was on the transfer market this summer, though proposals tended to be loans or to clubs he was not inclined to join.

“Chievo asked me for Giaccherini on loan,” representative Furio Valcareggi told the Corriere di Verona newspaper.

“Emanuele would’ve happily accepted, but nothing came of it because Napoli were not prepared to cover his wages.”

‘Giaccherini unsellable for Napoli’

Emanuele Giaccherini’s agent claims the midfielder is “unsellable” for Napoli as “there was no-one better on the market” for the Partenopei.

Giaccherini had been linked with a deadline-day move to Fiorentina, but while Furio Valcareggi admitted he tried to take his client there, he was equally happy that the 32-year-old still had a role to play at the San Paolo.

“Being considered unsellable for a top European club like Napoli is a source of pride for us,” he told Radio Kiss Kiss.
