Roma go cold on Campos?

Just hours after reports Roma had chosen Luis Campos to be their new director of sport, it’s claimed they’ve pulled out in frustration at the lack of clarity.

Gazzetta dello Sport and Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà insisted Lille chief Campos was definitively their first choice for the role.

Roma linked with PSV director

Reports are growing in the Netherlands that PSV director John de Jong is the latest candidate for the Roma job.

The Giallorossi are still without a director of sport after sacking Gianluca Petrachi in June, so CEO Guido Fienga has been in charge of transfer negotiations.

There have been numerous names mentioned as contenders, including Lille chief Luis Campos.

Now Voetbal International and Eindhovens Dagblad claim that Roma are showing genuine interest in PSV Eindhoven director de Jong.

Zoet: 'Wanted new Spezia challenge'

Spezia goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet ‘decided to leave PSV Eindhoven to seek new challenges and I am sure I’ll find them’ in Serie A.

The veteran shot-stopper is set to wear the gloves for the club in their first ever Serie A season, having earned promotion via the Serie B play-offs.

“I decided to leave Holland and PSV to seek new challenges and I am sure I’ll find them here,” Zoet told ACSpeziaNews.it.

Lammers to complete Atalanta move

Sam Lammers will reportedly be in Bergamo tomorrow to complete his €10m transfer from PSV Eindhoven to Atalanta.

According to Eindhovens Dagblad and Voetbal International, the medical has been booked for Friday.

The deal will be worth €10m including various bonuses.

Lammers is a 23-year-old Dutch centre-forward who came up through the PSV academy, but struggled for playing time last season.

He contributed three goals and an assist in 10 competitive games during the 2019-20 campaign.

Official: Spezia sign Zoet

Serie A newcomers Spezia have officially signed goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet from PSV Eindhoven on a two-year contract.

The 29-year-old has 11 senior caps for the Netherlands and recently had a six-month loan spell with FC Utrecht.

This is a permanent transfer and he has put pen to paper on a two-year deal with Spezia.

The cost of the operation is reportedly €1.4m.

It will be Spezia’s first ever Serie A experience, as they were promoted after winning the play-offs.

Spezia request Zoet from PSV

Spezia are in negotiations for PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet, according to Sky Sport Italia.

The club just earned promotion to Serie A for the first time in their history, winning the play-offs against Frosinone.

Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Spezia are now in talks with PSV Eindhoven to sign Zoet.

The 29-year-old shot-stopper was sent out to FC Utrecht on loan in January, but with the lockdown and early end to the Eredivisie season, he managed only 10 appearances.

Scamacca set for Sporting Braga

Sporting Braga are reportedly on the verge of signing Sassuolo and Italy Under-21 international striker Gianluca Scamacca, on loan with option to buy.

The 21-year-old has just returned to base after a season-long loan in Serie B with Ascoli, where he scored 13 goals.

He also had loans at Cremonese and PEC Zwolle, while he spent time in the Roma and PSV Eindhoven youth academies.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Sassuolo are now in advanced negotiations to send Scamacca to Portuguese side Sporting Braga.

Rodriguez: 'Giampaolo knows what I can give Torino'

Ricardo Rodriguez is glad to work with ex-Milan coach Marco Giampaolo at Torino in their new adventure together. ‘He knows what I can give to the team.’

The Swiss international spent half of last season on loan at PSV Eindhoven, but has returned to Serie A for a reunion with the coach who was briefly working with him at Milan.

“I am happy to be at Toro, I thank the director, President and coach for their faith in me, and I want to do well,” said Rodriguez in his press conference.

PSV return Rodriguez to Milan

Ricardo Rodriguez has returned to Milan after PSV decided against signing the left-back outright.

PSV took Rodriguez on loan in January and reports at the time stated they reserved a €4m option to buy him at the end of the season.

However, he managed just six appearances without any goals or assists as the Eredivisie campaign ended early due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The 27-year-old is now back at Milan, as per Sportitalia, although he cannot take part in the Rossoneri’s remaining Serie A matches this term.

Milan are reportedly keeping tabs on Sao Paulo midfielder Igor Liziero, PSV full-back Denzel Dumfries and AZ’s Teun Koopmeiners.

After deals for Alexis Saelemaekers and Simon Kjaer, Gazzetta dello Sport is among a handful of outlets that claim Milan are trying to sign Liziero.

The 22-year-old [pictured, second from right] is a central midfielder with an Italian passport, but he has a €50m release clause.
