Manenti banned for five years

Former Parma President Giampietro Manenti has been given a five-year ban by the FIGC.

Manenti took over the running of the club during last season, but despite several promises, never paid the players or any of the debt.

The patron was arrested in March on charges of embezzlement and money laundering, and while awaiting trial, has been banned from football for five years by the Italian federation.

Parma players: ‘Time is short’

Parma’s players have released a statement warning ‘time is short’ to save the stricken club.

A fifth and final auction held today failed to find a buyer for the Ducali, who have been declared bankrupt and will be relegated from Serie A at the end of the season.

Still no Parma offers

A fourth auction has passed with no bids for bankrupt Parma, the club has confirmed.

The Ducali were declared bankrupt in March, with total liabilities topping €200m, and a sporting debt of almost €75m.

Donadoni: ‘Lega to blame for Parma’

Roberto Donadoni says the Lega Serie A and FIGC must take some responsibility for the situation at Parma.

The Ducali have been declared bankrupt, and have already been relegated. However, it is not clear in which division the side will play, as they must clear their sporting debt by the end of June.

Tommaso Ghirardi and Giampietro Manenti have been blamed for accruing huge losses, but the team’s Coach insists others are also to blame.

‘Manenti still wants Parma’

Giampietro Manenti’s lawyer says the controversial businessman still wants to take over the running of Parma.

Manenti took over the Presidency of the club from Albanian entrepreneur Rezart Taci in February, but failed to pay player wages, and the club was declared bankrupt.

Tomorrow a bankruptcy ruling will be made on the holding company of the club, and Manenti’s lawyer says he still wants to take over the Ducali.

‘Ghirardi lied to me’

Tommaso Ghirardi misled FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio over the financial situation at Parma, the latter has revealed.

The Ducali were declared bankrupt earlier this month, with debts of over €200m, including €75m in sporting debt.

Former President Ghirardi has repeatedly denied that he ran the club improperly, but the head of the Italian FA has a different take.

New points penalty for Parma

Parma are set for another points penalty after President Giampietro Manenti was deferred to the Disciplinary Commission.

The Ducali were declared bankrupt last Thursday and placed under administration, but the sporting justice system is still tracking their many financial irregularities committed this season.

Nobody at the club has been paid since between July and November 2014, so neither have the pension contributions and taxes on those wages.

Donadoni: 'Ghirardi must pay'

Roberto Donadoni is “disgusted” by Parma’s bankruptcy and wants previous Presidents to join Giampietro Manenti in prison.

The Ducali host Torino on Sunday at 19.45 GMT, click here for a match preview.

The club was declared bankrupt on Thursday and placed under administration, while President Manenti was arrested this week for money laundering.

“The situation is tragi-comic,” said Coach Donadoni in his Press conference.

Mirante: 'Parma await administrator'

Antonio Mirante said Parma might not play Torino after the club was declared bankrupt. “It depends on the administrator.”

The long-awaited bankruptcy tribunal was finally held today and what everyone expected has now occurred – the club is bankrupt and placed under administration.

“Now we’ll talk to the administrator and see what he says,” goalkeeper Mirante told ParmaLive.com.

Scaccia bids for Parma?

Businessman Alfredo Scaccia is said to have submitted a declaration of interest to Parma’s administrators.

The London-based businessman declared yesterday that he could save the Ducali and has now seemingly taken his interest further.

ParmaLive is running with what it claims to be an excerpt of a fax sent by Scaccia to administrators after the club was declared bankrupt this afternoon.
