Pirlo: De Sciglio handled, but…

Andrea Pirlo claims Mattia De Sciglio did handball during Juventus-Milan last week but admits that sometimes “penalties like these aren’t given”.

Davide Massa’s decision to award Juve a last-ditch penalty and subsequent winner against Milan proved hugely divisive, but Pirlo maintained De Sciglio’s hand “was there”.

“Penalties like these are given and aren’t given, but [the referee] gave it and the hand was there,” the two sides’ former midfielder told Tuttosport.

Pirlo: ‘Verratti is Italy’s future’

Andrea Pirlo agrees that Marco Verratti is “the future of Italian and European football”.

The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is one of the best midfielders in Europe, and is seen as the heir to Pirlo.

“Verratti is a very good player,” the 37-year-old said in an interview with L’Équipe.

“He is and will be the future of Italian and European football for the next 20 years.

Pirlo: ‘I’ll stop soon’

Andrea Pirlo confirms “I’ll stop soon” as it’s better to retire “when you decide, not when others tell you to”.

The former Juventus, Inter and Milan midfielder is now 37, and has just one year left on his contract with MLS side New York City FC.

“I haven’t really decided yet what I’ll do after my career,” Pirlo admitted, speaking to L’Équipe.

“I need to think about what’s best for me, whether that’s to be a Coach or a director or something else.

Pirlo to be Juventus ambassador

Andrea Pirlo will return to Turin as Juventus brand ambassador after he hangs up his boots at New York City FC, it’s reported.

Sunday’s edition of Tuttosport has the Bianconeri comeback as its front page story.

It is suggested Pirlo never truly cut his ties with Juve and is already making plans for a reunion.

It’s not yet clear when this will be, but the moment Pirlo decides to end his playing career in Major League Soccer, he’ll be heading to Turin.

Vieira: 'No Khedira to MLS'

New York City FC Coach Patrick Vieira confirms Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira “doesn’t have any intention of coming to MLS at this time.”

There were reports the German international could follow Andrea Pirlo to New York and Major League soccer.

“There is nothing I can say because he’s not one of the players we are targeting,” Vieira told reporters today.

“He’s playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world and he doesn’t have any intention of coming to MLS at this time.”

Andrea Pirlo reveals he will remain in football after retirement, adding 'football is my life'.

The MLS star has not yet decided when he will stop playing, but confirms he 'still has a lot of passion' for the game.

What are the midfielder's plans going forward?

"Sunday I have a meeting in New York City, then I will go on holiday in Florida," Pirlo told La Repubblica.

"It is my last season? We'll see. For now I have this and I want to enjoy it. I hope to finish well, then I'll see how I feel.

New York City FC ask for Khedira

Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira could join Andrea Pirlo at New York City FC in Major League Soccer.

The 29-year-old Germany international is under contract with Juve until June 2019.

However, reports emerged that MLS club New York City FC are interested in tempting him towards America.

Khedira joined Juve as a free agent once his deal with Real Madrid expired in July 2015.

He has 69 senior caps for Germany, scoring seven goals.

Pirlo, Vidal and Pogba helped Juve dominate Italy between 2012 and 2015 and reached the Champions League final last year, but the Bianconeri have since lost the trio and not been quite as forceful, with Miralem Pjanic yet to hit top gear and Lippi portraying Mario Lemina and Stefano Sturaro in a negative light.
