Messi: Juve are stronger, Ronaldo...

Lionel Messi believes Juventus are stronger this season as they ‘signed very well’ over the summer and now feels ‘closer’ to Cristiano Ronaldo.

Messi gave a rare interview to Sport on Thursday, where he was asked about Barcelona’s rivals in the Champions League.

“I think everyone strengthened and signed the players they needed,” he told the Catalan publication.

Inter striker Lautaro Martinez can’t stop scoring with Argentina and his agent confessed “it’d be wonderful to see him play with Leo Messi at Barcelona.”

Bastoni: 'Conte the Messi of Coaches'

Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni called Antonio Conte “the Lionel Messi of Coaches” and has learned so much from marking Romelu Lukaku in training.

The Italy Under-21 international is not holding back in his praise of the new Nerazzurri boss.

“Everyone had spoken highly of Conte and I’ve only received confirmation of how great he is. As far as I am concerned, Conte is the Messi of Coaches,” Bastoni told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Ronaldo among The Best finalists

Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo is among the final three nominees vying for The Best FIFA Men’s Player award.

Ronaldo helped Juve win their eighth straight Scudetto following his Italian-record €112m transfer from Real Madrid last summer, scoring 28 goals in all competitions.

The No 7 also captained Portugal to glory at the inaugural edition of the Nations League over the summer.

Messi to miss Napoli-Barca

Lionel Messi will miss Barcelona’s friendly double-header against Napoli with a calf injury.

Messi had only just resumed training with Barca after his participation at Copa America, but the Catalans’ confirmed on their official website that he had picked up a ‘grade-I calf strain’.

Agent: 'Lautaro staying at Inter'

Lautaro Martinez “will not leave Inter and can’t wait to start work with Antonio Conte,” said his agent. “It’s true there was some Barcelona interest.”

Argentina invited to Nations League?

Fox Sports has made the shock claim that Argentina have been invited to the next Nations League.

Argentina finished third at Copa America, but their run was marred by Lionel Messi accusing CONMEBOL of engineering a Brazil victory through favourable officiating.

With that in mind, Fox Sports Argentina is now reporting the Albiceleste have an invitation to play in the Nations League.

However, they can only participate in the tournament if they opt out of the next Copa America in 2023.
