Keita open for Lazio return

Monaco forward Keita Balde Diao said he will ‘never close the door’ on Lazio and has revealed he keeps in touch with former coach Simone Inzaghi.

The Senegalese attacker arrived in the Italian capital from Barcelona in July 2011 and stayed until 2017, when Monaco picked him up for €30m.

Keita contributed 31 goals and 22 assists in his 137 games for the Biancocelesti and will not exclude the chances of a return to the Olimpico.

Conte: 'That's why we wanted Lukaku'

Antonio Conte said “Romelu Lukaku showed why we tried so hard to sign him” and referred to Mauro Icardi as a former Inter player.

The Coach spoke to Sky Sport Italia after a 4-0 victory over Lecce, which saw new signing Lukaku on target on his Serie A debut after his hard-fought move from Manchester United.

“Let’s not forget Lukaku cost €65m to be paid over five years, so when people talk about big money spent, it wasn’t even that much,” insisted Conte.

Fiorentina look to Keita Balde

Keita Balde Diao could be heading back to Serie A yet again, this time on loan from Monaco to Fiorentina.

According to La Repubblica, the Senegal international forward is on the Viola radar for this season.

He came up through the Lazio youth academy and was sold to Monaco for €30m in 2017.

The 24-year-old was on loan at Inter last term, at a cost of €5m, but the Nerazzurri did not take up their option to buy.

Keita could well return to Serie A again for Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in a similar loan with option deal.

Keita alternative to Correa for Milan

Keita Balde Diao of Monaco has emerged as an alternative should Milan fail to secure Angel Correa from Atletico Madrid.

The Rossoneri’s plans to purchase Correa for €40m plus numerous bonuses hit problems this week when Monaco suddenly cancelled their transfer for Andre Silva.

That €30m was meant to raise the necessary funds for Correa, but Sky Sport Italia suggest there are more problems for the Argentina international.

Monaco are reportedly ready to replace Keita Balde Diao with Inter winger Ivan Perisic.

Perisic’s days at Inter seem numbered after Antonio Conte criticised him in public.

Now, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Monaco have shown an interest in the Croat, despite his preference for a Premier League move.

He would replace Keita, who has returned to the principality after Inter chose not to take up their €34m option to buy.

Report: Arsenal look at Keita

Arsenal have reportedly set their sights on Keita Balde Diao after Inter sent the winger back to Monaco.

Keita spent last season on loan at Inter, who had a €34m option to buy, but he scored just five goals in 29 appearances.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri are not expected to keep the Senegal international, who is currently at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Instead, Le 10 Sport claims the 24-year-old could be destined for Arsenal as they weigh up the signing of a wide attacker.

Inzaghi outsmarted toothless Inter

Lazio were happy to let Inter pour forward with no real incision or genuine threat, explains Elio Salerno, as Simone Inzaghi's gameplan paid off.

Simone Inzaghi tactically out-foxed Inter boss Luciano Spalletti and took Lazio to a thoroughly-deserved victory at San Siro.

Inter started the match in positive fashion, the intensity was high and Lazio were being forced into quick turnovers of possession, allowing Luciano Spalletti’s team to apply early pressure on Thomas Strakosha’s goal. But Inzaghi had come prepared and once the early storm had been weathered, his well thought out plan came to the fore.
