Di Francesco set for Fiorentina?

Fiorentina have agreed basic terms with Sassuolo Coach Eusebio Di Francesco to take over next season, according to reports.

Paulo Sousa’s current contract is due to expire at the end of the season and neither party intends to renew.

Di Francesco emerged as the main contender for the bench and, according to La Nazione, they are well on the way to sealing the deal.

Sousa: 'We could have scored more'

Fiorentina Coach Paulo Sousa says his team are finding consistency after a third successive Serie A win.

Khalidou Babacar's second-half winner gave the Viola a 1-0 victory over Bologna, a result that keeps alive their faint hopes of qualifying for next season's Europa League.

"Europa League? Today we thought about Bologna, we created a lot of chances," Portuguese tactician Sousa commented at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

"We could have won by more goals, the team had the right spirit.

Sousa: 'Fiorentina offered new deal'

Paulo Sousa shrugged off “gossip” about his future and insists Fiorentina “already offered a contract renewal twice.”

Antognoni: 'Viola think of EDF'

Fiorentina director Giancarlo Antognoni hints they are “thinking about” Sassuolo Coach Eusebio Di Francesco to replace Paulo Sousa.

While Sousa’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season, it’s widely believed the Portuguese tactician will not renew it after failing to make an impact in Serie A, the Europa League or Coppa Italia.

“Sousa is doing well, despite the recent difficulties. We’ll see what happens,” Antognoni told Sky Sport Italia.

Tello: 'Barca favourites but Juve...'

Fiorentina winger Cristian Tello insists that Barcelona are favourites to beat Juve in the Champions league, but won't dismiss the Bianconeri.

The former Barca youth product also revealed a desire to stay in Florence, but admitted 'it's up to Fiorentina'.

"I started out as a striker and my childhood idol was Fernando Torres," the Spaniard told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Dortmund eye Viola duo?

It is reported that Borussia Dortmund want to sign Fiorentina's Croatian duo Milan Badelj and Nikola Kalinic.

According to Tuttomercato, the German Bundesliga outfit are keen to table an offer of around €40m that would enable them to secure the services of both the midfielder and the forward.

Badelj has been in Florence since 2014 when he signed from Hamburg, while Kalinic joined a year later from Ukrainian side Dnipro.

Sousa-Dortmund links denied?

The German Press has made it clear that Borussia Dortmund have not met with Fiorentina Coach Paulo Sousa.

According to SPORT1, negotiations between Sousa and Dortmund can be “ruled out at this stage”.

The links had come after Arsenal had reportedly made Thomas Tuchel their No 1 target to replace Arsene Wenger.

The Viola boss also helped BVB to a 3-1 win against Juventus in the 1997 Champions League final.

Dortmund speak to Sousa

Reports suggest that Fiorentina Coach Paulo Sousa has met with Borussia Dortmund over a possible move to the German club this summer.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, there has been continued interest from Dortmund and this has intensified in the last few days.

The Portuguese Coach s only under contract with the Viola until the end of the current campaign, and with two erratic seasons in Florence, it has long been established that he will leave in the summer.
