Dortmund eye Viola duo?

It is reported that Borussia Dortmund want to sign Fiorentina's Croatian duo Milan Badelj and Nikola Kalinic.

According to Tuttomercato, the German Bundesliga outfit are keen to table an offer of around €40m that would enable them to secure the services of both the midfielder and the forward.

Badelj has been in Florence since 2014 when he signed from Hamburg, while Kalinic joined a year later from Ukrainian side Dnipro.

Sousa-Dortmund links denied?

The German Press has made it clear that Borussia Dortmund have not met with Fiorentina Coach Paulo Sousa.

According to SPORT1, negotiations between Sousa and Dortmund can be “ruled out at this stage”.

The links had come after Arsenal had reportedly made Thomas Tuchel their No 1 target to replace Arsene Wenger.

The Viola boss also helped BVB to a 3-1 win against Juventus in the 1997 Champions League final.

Dortmund speak to Sousa

Reports suggest that Fiorentina Coach Paulo Sousa has met with Borussia Dortmund over a possible move to the German club this summer.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, there has been continued interest from Dortmund and this has intensified in the last few days.

The Portuguese Coach s only under contract with the Viola until the end of the current campaign, and with two erratic seasons in Florence, it has long been established that he will leave in the summer.

Reports: Roma contact Sousa

Roma have reportedly made contact with Fiorentina Coach Paulo Sousa, in case current boss Luciano Spalletti leaves at the end of the season.

Sousa is set to leave the Viola at the end of the campaign, after poor results have made his position untenable in Florence.

Meanwhile Spalletti is only under contract until the summer, and it remains unclear whether he will remain with the club.

Sousa: 'Fiorentina could've lost'

Paulo Sousa admits Fiorentina were ultimately fortunate to beat Crotone. “We could’ve lost despite 22 shots on goal.”

The Viola were again far from sharp or impressive, but did enough for the victory thanks to a late Nikola Kalinic lob.

“We could’ve lost despite having 21-22 shots on goal,” complained the Coach on Rai Sport.

Corvino: 'Fiorentina made a pact'

Fiorentina director Pantaleo Corvino assures the club and Coach Paulo Sousa “made a pact with the team” and hope the fans will follow suit.

The Viola are under immense pressure after crashing out of the Europa League and Coppa Italia, also falling well behind in the race for a top six Serie A finish.

“I am here because I believe that when objectives have been lost, you analyse the situation in certain moments of the season,” said Corvino at a joint Press conference with Sousa and captain Gonzalo Rodriguez.

Fiorentina meet Di Francesco?

Sassuolo Coach Eusebio Di Francesco reportedly met with Fiorentina directors to replace Paulo Sousa.

It has become clear neither the club nor Sousa want to continue their rapport next season, so won’t activate the clause to add another year to his contract.

According to La Repubblica newspaper, Viola representatives have Di Francesco at the top of their wish-list and already had a secret meeting some time over the last few days.

They worked out a basic plan for the transfer strategy, including who will be allowed to leave the club.

Fiorentina summer clearout

Fiorentina will reportedly hold a summer clearout, with Coach Paulo Sousa not the only one expected to leave.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, a number of players are heading for the exit along with the former Basel man.

The Italian newspaper reports that captain Gonzalo Rodriguez, goalkeeper Ciprian Tatarusanu, Milan Badelj and Josip Ilicic will all depart, with further question marks over Cristian Tello, Federico Bernardeschi and Nikola Kalinic.
