Reports: Roma contact Sousa

Roma have reportedly made contact with Fiorentina Coach Paulo Sousa, in case current boss Luciano Spalletti leaves at the end of the season.

Sousa is set to leave the Viola at the end of the campaign, after poor results have made his position untenable in Florence.

Meanwhile Spalletti is only under contract until the summer, and it remains unclear whether he will remain with the club.

Sousa: 'Fiorentina could've lost'

Paulo Sousa admits Fiorentina were ultimately fortunate to beat Crotone. “We could’ve lost despite 22 shots on goal.”

The Viola were again far from sharp or impressive, but did enough for the victory thanks to a late Nikola Kalinic lob.

“We could’ve lost despite having 21-22 shots on goal,” complained the Coach on Rai Sport.

Corvino: 'Fiorentina made a pact'

Fiorentina director Pantaleo Corvino assures the club and Coach Paulo Sousa “made a pact with the team” and hope the fans will follow suit.

The Viola are under immense pressure after crashing out of the Europa League and Coppa Italia, also falling well behind in the race for a top six Serie A finish.

“I am here because I believe that when objectives have been lost, you analyse the situation in certain moments of the season,” said Corvino at a joint Press conference with Sousa and captain Gonzalo Rodriguez.

Please stay, Max

While Arsenal or Barcelona talk continues, Adam Digby warns Juventus fans don’t appreciate Max Allegri’s importance.

For such a charismatic and charming Tuscan, Max Allegri has certainly proven to be a divisive figure.

Even now, more than three years since his dismissal, Milan supporters struggle to agree on the lasting legacy and accountability of his Rossoneri tenure. How much of their slide into mediocrity was his fault is balanced against how deeply was he undermined by the club’s desperate internal problems, the failure to replace ageing players somehow blamed on a man only ever in charge of on-field issues.
