Flamengo get Gabigol bonus

Inter have agreed to loan Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa to Flamengo until December, but there’s a clause in case an offer comes in during 2019.

The striker just returned from a successful loan spell at Santos, his former club, and is returning to Brazil once more.

He had been linked with West Ham United, but it’s reported they couldn’t get him a work permit.

Flamengo ask for Miranda

Flamengo have just signed Gabigol on loan from Inter and have reportedly offered €4m for defender Joao Miranda too.

The centre-back has complained repeatedly at the lack of playing time this season and could walk away before his contract expires in June 2020.

According to Globoesporte in Brazil, Flamengo took the opportunity of talks with Inter for Gabriel Barbosa to also ask after Miranda.

The offer on the table is believed to be worth €4m for the Brazil international.

Kalinic voted worst signing

Former Milan striker Nikola Kalinic has won the Bidone d’Oro as worst signing of 2018, dominating the vote ahead of Patrik Schick and Andre Silva.

The ‘Golden Bin’ award is handed out to the player who has most disappointed following a Serie A transfer.

Handed out by the website Calciobidoni.it, over 13,000 people voted from a short-list of candidates including Juve-owned Marko Pjaca, Henrique Dalbert of Inter, his Nerazzurri teammate Joao Mario, ex-Juventus defender Benedikt Howedes and Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.

Gabigol confirms Flamengo move

Inter forward Gabriel Barbosa has confirmed his move to Flamengo on a one-year loan.

Gabigol tweeted a video of himself playing Pro Evolution Soccer as Flamengo, scoring a goal and celebrating, although the club have yet to comment on his arrival.

Globo Esporte reports the 22-year-old has signed for Flamengo on loan until December, with the Rubro-Negro only paying his Inter salary in full.

Furthermore, the Nerazzurri will not have first refusal on the attacker, while they will owe Flamengo 5 percent of the transfer fee if they sell him this summer.

Flamengo favourites for Gabigol

Flamengo are the favourites to sign Inter striker Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa on loan, as he was reportedly turned down for a West Ham work permit.

The 22-year-old was signed from Santos for €29.5m in the summer of 2016.

He made little impact at San Siro, then on loan to Benfica, but rediscovered his confidence back at Santos over the last 12 months.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Gabigol is more likely to remain in Brazil with a loan deal for Flamengo.

Inter give up Gabigol for Barella?

Inter are reportedly prepared to give up Gabriel Barbosa for Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella.

According to Tuttosport, talks are ‘increasingly intense’ between Flamengo and Inter, but the Brazilian side have yet to meet Gabigol’s €18m valuation.

Consequently, the newspaper believes the Nerazzurri could drive the price down for Barella, who is rated at €50m and also a target for Chelsea, by handing over the former Santos attacker.

Gabigol: ‘I want Inter chance’

Gabriel Barbosa insists “I’d like a chance at Inter”, despite links to West Ham United and Flamengo.

The striker, known as Gabigol, was on loan with first club Santos after failing to make a single Series A start for the Nerazzurri after his move in 2016.

A loan spell at Benfica also brought no league starts, and it’s widely assumed there’s no place for him at San Siro.

“Before any decision I want to speak with Spalletti,” Gabigol insisted, speaking to Panorama.
