Sarri: 'Higuain is very tired'

Maurizio Sarri reveals Gonzalo Higuain returned “very tired” from Argentina and is at risk for Verona-Napoli.

‘Higuain not planning future elsewhere’

The agent of Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain says he ‘isn’t planning a future elsewhere’ and rules out an Article 17 exit.

The Fifa law allows players who sign a deal before the age of 28 to buy themselves out of contract after three years.

However, Higuain’s agent Nicolas Higuain, who is also his brother, denied any imminent departure from the San Paolo.

“We’re doing really well at Napoli,” he told TuttoNapoli.net.

Napoli worry over Higuain

Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain trained separately for Argentina today, after suffering a foot injury.

The forward was injured during the 1-1 draw with Brazil last night, having set up his side’s opener.

The Argentinian federation’s website confirms that Higuain, along with Tottenham Hotspur’s Erik Lamela, trained separately as they seek to recover.

The Albiceleste play Colombia face Colombia on Tuesday, while Napoli face a trip to Verona on November 22 after the international break.

Maradona 'wrong about Sarri'

Diego Maradona admits he “was wrong” to criticise Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri. “Gonzalo Higuain is my heir.”

The Argentina legend hit the headlines a few weeks ago when he told reporters Sarri was “not the right man” to lead his beloved Partenopei.

Agent: ‘No Article 17 for Higuain’

Gonzalo Higuain’s agent and brother Nicolas Higuain has ruled out a departure using Article 17: “It’s not our style.”

The article, also known as the ‘Webster ruling’ allows players who sign a deal before the age of 28 to buy themselves out of contract after three years.

However, his brother has ruled out any such move from the Argentine striker. Higuain’s current Partenopei deal is set to expire in June 2018.

Gonzalo Higuain admits “my objective is to win the title with Napoli and we hope it’s the right year” after beating Udinese.
