Giovinco: 'I hope Conte saw me'

Sebastian Giovinco “hopes” Italy Coach Antonio Conte saw his hat-trick for Toronto FC against New York City FC.

The Atomic Ant has now found the net 11 times in this MLS season and starred in last night’s 4-4 draw.

“It’s never easy to score in any League,” Giovinco told Sky Sport Italia.

“It is always difficult to do well, as it depends on the hunger and attitude you put on to the field.”

Was the hat-trick a message to Azzurri boss Conte?

Giovinco: 'Pirlo, come face us'

Sebastian Giovinco looks forward to Andrea Pirlo joining the MLS: 'I hope he plays against us.'

The 28-year-old has impressed for Toronto FC since his transfer from Juventus, and as reports keep mounting of his former teammate's move to the states, he looks forward to being reunited.

“He [Pirlo] messaged me, but not from New York,” Giovinco told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “Some time ago he asked me how things were going for me.

“I told him it was a nice experience, something worth trying.

Giovinco: 'Pirlo, come to MLS!'

Sebastian Giovinco has “no regrets” about moving to Toronto FC and reveals he told Andrea Pirlo to leave Juventus for the MLS.

The former Parma and Bianconeri forward has been a sensation in Canada, consistently topping the charts for most impressive player in Major League Soccer thanks to seven goals and six assists.

'Aquilani could go to MLS'

Alberto Aquilani could move to MLS at the end of the season, according to the Fiorentina man’s agent.

The midfielder’s current deal expires at the end of this season, and it was revealed in March that no talks had taken place.

With the former Liverpool man’s affairs now being handled by a new agent, Andrea D’Amico, there is a possibility he could follow Sebastian Giovinco to MLS.

Conte: 'Doors open to Balotelli'

‘Inter, Napoli wanted Criscito’

Giovinco: ‘Felt like burden to Juventus’

Sebastian Giovinco explains his reasons for leaving Juventus, saying he felt like ‘a burden’ before moving to Toronto FC.

The Atomic Ant joined the MLS side in January, leaving Juventus six months early, and spoke to Corriere dello Sport with the season set to get underway.

“I felt that if I stayed [at Juventus] I’d have been a burden,” Giovinco explained.

“The club wanted to bring my departure forward.

“I hope to return to the national team, but I’m calm.”
