Giovinco perfect fit for Toronto

Sebastian Giovinco’s arrival is just as important for the player as it is for TFC, argues Marco D’Onofrio, our man in Toronto.

If we’ve learned anything since Sebastian Giovinco’s plane touched down in Toronto on Thursday, it is that the move is about much more than just a team with a plethora of money to spend and a player eager to cash in. Rather, it’s a tale of a city desperate for a winner and a player longing to feel relevant again.

Allegri: 'Juve risked losing'

Max Allegri admits Juventus “risked losing” against Udinese and was happy with the 0-0 draw.

“We went closer to conceding a goal than scoring in the first half. After the break we were more solid and more careful with the ball, so only ran a couple of risks.

Juve’s striking options

Juventus’ narrow win over Parma in the Coppa Italia highlighted the potential for a January addition in attack, writes Luca Cetta.

At times a dour struggle, one moment of quality saw Juventus oust a determined Parma from the Coppa Italia. Fernando Llorente threaded a pass through for Alvaro Morata and he did the rest, showing composure to hold off defenders and steer his shot past Antonio Mirante. Before that 89th minute goal, the Bianconeri rarely threatened against a Gialloblu outfit that had sensed a potential upset. It proved a very different game to November’s 7-0 thrashing.
